{salutations, greetings, general waves and yes-it's-been-a-long-time hellos, exchanged}

So, this happened:

My first grandson

[who I never told anyone on HPT about, sorry...Life, you know?]

just turned 1 year old today.  Incredibly proud newish Halmeoni

["Grandmother", in Korean.  Just nod and play along]

that I am, I told my quite American son and daughter-in-law that I wanted to do the Korean tradition of placing the 1-year-old child on a table that has a number of life-type items on it (in this case, a ball representing sports; a telephone for...business, I guess; money; poker chips; my motorcycle keys (my grandson has loved my bike since he was 5-months-old); a pair of drumsticks; a kaleidoscope for science; and a book for scholars/writers) to see what he would choose.  Korean custom is that that's what the child will be when he grows up.

Of course, my grandson chose the chips.

I've been trying to sell my poker stash for months now.  Not any more.  I'm leaving it all to my grandson.

Solid.  Make sure the kid learns about them and their significance.  It'll mean a ton more later in life if he can appreciate the significance.

We did the same thing with detroitdad on Sunday.  He chose chips too.

Besides, you were never going to sell your Rose/Bear Paw chips...

LOL...yeah, I think Detroitdad wants ALL the chips.  Greedy bastige.

And nope, never selling those.  I just have a crapton of casino chips and other sets that I haven't used since I started school, that I wanted to sell.  Now all I want to do is teach Kevin chip tricks and make him a clay snob.

Miss you guys.

Kinda disappointed that he didn't go for the Harley keys in one hand and the poker chips in the other. I am told that when I was young I grabbed the shiny beer bottle cap.

Good luck, nutn

heh...if it's any consolation, his left hand was on top of the money, but he wrapped his right hand firmly around the chips.

Between Bill and MikeM, seems there is a couple cash games a month, if you're interested.  Let us know when you have the time, we'll find the game.

I was thinking of having a game in FEB. Either the 14th or the 28th (or do SAT's work better for you). Turning 45 next month. Figured this was a good enough excuse as any to have a game.

When I actually set a date for the game I'll run it by you. If you can't commit, then I'll go with whatever works best for me.

Korea?  Still playing any poker?  I'm playing more than ever now. Working on building my second custom set in the last two years. Acquired a PNY cash set. Damn is it sexy.

Colleen asked what you were up to. Hope your doing well.

Hell, I miss PLAYING poker.
I miss the daily stops here.

At least I can affect one of those.

Like I said. I still stop in a few times a week. This was my first foray into any time of poker forums (or forums in general). HPT will always have a special place in my heart. I have found other "poker" forums that are extremely active that I frequent daily. I will always come back here.

As for playing poker. There is a home game almost every weekend around these parts. I get to play almost as much as I want :)

Still looking for the timing to bring it up to Colleen. After spending a four day weekend gambling in Atlanta last weekend I'm not sure if there will be a good time lol. Literally I'll be a game time decision.

Placing my order on MON. for these babies. Who doesn't need two custom cash sets

Two sided Double Board Chip. Why, because I can :)

I probably play about three times a month (mostly cash). Obviously I'm in. I could even host. Soon I'll have two custom cash sets :)

Definitely lets discuss getting together. Whether it be for a card game, dinner, ect....

The local HPT'ers. You, Wedge, Azcat, and Mike32 could all get together at one of our places for dinner. I love grilling :)  Then we could do card game to follow. I could invite a few locals to fill out the table.

Thoughts?
