I am having a custom cloth being made for a 55" round poker table and I want to have a betting line.  How many inches out from the rail are most people putting there betting lines and why.

I was thinking about 9.5" out from the rail.

"Most" people aren't putting betting lines.  Smiley

Ouch

I'd say do what looks best, just remember to leave room for stacking chips etc. Even if you have a race track, you wanna leave room for players to put chips out there in no mans land to think about it.

What will they use for a line?

6-9 inches is standard, but most people dont add them.

I agree that "most" people don't have them on their tables, but I like them.  They can add to the looks of the table. I find a blank one color field a little bland.

I'm also a nut about a clean and organized table (no drinks or ashtrays allowed on my table) I think that splashing the pot is reduced because of the designated betting line.

If you put on a betting line, I think that no less than 8" and no more than 12" from the rail would be right.

I would go with the 9" just to give a little more room....6" would cause too many problems with being so close IMO.

Wow, a prompt reply on a thread 3 years old. And what a reply it is.

That's one sexy table.

Thank You!  The table took 1 year to design, build, and have shipped to us.  It was well worth it.
