Is felt any good for a poker table? I hear so much about poker cloths and speed cloths its making me question my desicion to use felt. Its a small table (2.5' x 2.5' square table) so the cards don't need to run across the table so would felt do? Is their a better material I should look out for?

Biggest problem with felt is that it WILL shed and pill up over time and usage.

Other than speed/poker cloth what is the best cloth to use? In order to get the colors I want in poker cloth I've to order from the states and that would take too long.

For I am not sure, but I can eliminate felt... You can try looking at Joan's fabrics for they have great material for cheap if you know where to look.

I used a burgundy heavy cotton canvas I got at WalMart for $4.50/yd. Cards fly across it.

I’m don’t want to turn this into another flame thread. Just do a forum word search on "Poker Supplies Ltd" and read some

I’ve ordered cloth & pad from PSL twice with no trouble. Last one just a few weeks ago. I wonder what’s going on there.
Jambine, have you changed your mind since this post? No problem with the flame thread thing, but I'm curious as to what's happened? You can PM if you'd like to keep from bashing anyone.

I guess I didn't notice that post was a year and a half ago. I guess a lot can change in that amount of time. I am off to do some reading.

also go to scottkeen.com and search the same thing. Purchase your supplies from yourautotrim.com. Cheaper, faster, better, and sis I mention cheaper.

Hi Guys I have just joined this site as I am going to be building my first poker table soon. I am from the UK and I have bought the Water resistant suited poker cloth, marine grade closed cell volara padding, 1" think high density rail form padding and faux marine grade black leather vinyl all for a good price off and ebayer in the US. http://cgi.ebay.com/Suited-Speed-Cloth-Poker-Table-Kit-Felt-Foam-and-Vinyl_W0QQitemZ220487607753QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item335615e5c9#ht_3318wt_939Here is a link to his site. I contacted him and to ship it to the UK it was $110 and all the items are $109 so $219 total. I think that is a good price as I have done some research and for the job lot its easy and cheap. Also he has lots of different coloured suited poker cloth which i had never seen before, I have ordered the Platinum one looks amazing and cant wait to see it and play on it!! Keep playing I'M ALL IN !!!
