help on first table

So i am going to tackle a table. what would be the ideal build material? Plywood or mdf ? And the rail covering? Is whisper vinyl the best? How is the padded suede from yourautotrim.com? Thanks

Plywood/MDF - Most people recommend plywood, I have built tables out of both. It depends on what kind of table you are building.

Rail Covering - I don't think you can go wrong with whisper vinyl, it worked well for me.
