In 5-card draw, is it true that in the case of identical flushes, straight flushes or royal flushes, certain suits beat others, spades being the highest? Does this rule also apply to stud games?
Suits do not count in hand rankings. I'm sure you'll be able to find *some* variant of poker in someone's home game where they do but as a rule they are irrelevant at showdown.
Suits are used for high carding such as to determine dealer button at a new table. And they do come into play in Stud when determining who gets dealt to first. But for winning a hand, suits don't matter.
