You lost probably the least you could in that hand.

The 2.5x raise that was called told you tread carefully.  You did.

Congrats.

SB didn't even value bet on the end? You're lucky you didn't lose more.

SB and I have history. I would imagine SB figured I would take a stab at it on the end.

And yes, Wedge, The SB call  to my raise on the flop definitely made me slow down. But it was the smooth call on the turn that really made me slam on the brakes.

I kinda figured that the SB checking the river was to induce a bet out of me but at that point, with the info that I gathered, I was happy to take what was in the pot already.

Not to mention that if I do bet on the river, and more than likely get raised, now I've got a crappy decision to make.

To be honest, I put the SB on the Ace of spades, which would have been good enough to take it down. But Noooooooooooo!! SB had to have blah blah blah blah........

Agreed.  Would've been hard to lay down K high flush to a value bet on river.  You saved some chips

I know it would have been disastrous in this particular spot, but I think you have to value bet the river here.

I don't really see why the flop call would make you slow down at all.  You have a huge hand and he likely has a flush or the Ace of spades and a pair or a set or any number of things other than the nut flush.

Not saying a bet on the end would be good (although I think it would have been), but not betting because you're happy to take what's already in the pot doesn't make a lot of sense to me (no offense or anything; just giving an honest opinion.)

Anyway, very tough (and stupid) turn...
