Hosted our final regular season tournament Saturday for Season #5.  The guys usually give myself a gift for running the league, my old man for hosting the games, and my mom for putting up with our noise and foul language every second week through the winter!  This year I missed 6 tournaments when I was away in Toronto for cancer treatments.  I opened the card that was with my gift and there was a 'ticket' inside.  Here's the scanned ticket......

I couldn't hand pick a nicer bunch of guys to have in my league.  Feeling pretty lucky these days, just thought I'd share with more of my poker friends here on HPT.

Please tell me you took this down . . .

I have always told my wife that some of the best people I have met have been seated around a card table, and this just proves the point.

I have always told my wife that some of the best people I have met have been seated around a card table, and this just proves the point.

And those people are gamblers, the same segment of society that the DOJ and our gubment saw fit to kill the fun of, or put almost completely out of work ...

@Milo; Final is next Saturday, May 7th, and I'm hoping I can.  I have some of those guys actually cheering for me that I do!  Most of these guys we met when the local bar started a free poker league, and then they came to mine when I started it up.  Incredible bunch of guys around our poker tables!!

@Buzz; Got a clear CT scan March 16th and next check up is June 22nd.  Slowing getting energy levels back but it just feels good to get back to a somewhat normal routine with no more trips to the radiation table!!!  Still going to be a long recovery but I feel like I've been given another lease on life!  Thank you for asking

Well, the tourney was a lot of fun.  22 minutes into the game two of the guys got it all in with Kings vs Aces and the Aces held up.  The guy with Kings was crippled down to 21K and had 1K in the SB.  1 player raised to 6k and 3 players called in front so he threw the rest in.  All 4 players called.  The others checked it right down and all missed the board but one with a pair of 6's.  Wade revealed K,3 off and his flopped King gave him the pot and quintupled his stack!!!!  He ended up finishing second and taking $395.  He was the same guy who knocked me out half way through the tournament.  Blinds were 5k-10k and he raised 40k to 50k total from the SB.  I looked at my cards in the BB and had Kings so I shipped it for a total of 195k and he insta-called!  I knew he had bullets.  Well don't I spike my King on the flop along with two hearts.  The board went runner, runner hearts and with two red Aces, Wade 4 flushed and I was a rail bird.  Oh well, the way the hand played out we were getting it in pre flop or post flop so there would have been no change.
