Listening to the ESPN Poker Edge podcast today, I heard them mention that at ton of poker on TV may be going away for a while, since they have online sponsorships.

The PS Million Dollar Challenge has been scratched, the PS Big Game will still be online and (possibly) on international TV... apparently Poker After Dark is going to finish their new episodes and then stop.

Tonight, while watching High Stakes Poker, I noticed that they edited out the beginning where Norm says "High Stakes poker, presented by pokerstars.net".  Amazing how this DOJ thing is really wiping the slate clean.

It really is affecting everything, and it's really unfortunate. PAD was just getting good with their PLO episodes starting...

Yea I agree, I was so shocked when I found out. I never thought I'd see the day that the government actually went heads up with internet poker. I really think that if the government keeps at it poker is gonna really see a hard in upcoming years.

Best Regards,
Nick

Many things on TV have online sponsorships and not only poker. Forex for example as well. I hope government'a actions won't harm my favourite game too much.

It'll be curious to see what ads are slapped all over the players in the WSOP Main Event this year as they get down to the final few tables...if they don't have online poker to push...

Look in the bright side, maybe the govt shutdown of those sites is good for live poker. Maybe it'll provide some de-commercialization of live, televised poker like the WSOP. The last few years it's become less about poker and more about sponsors and how much advertising you can wear on your person.

Has HSP been take off the air? I had it set to record on my DVR this past Sat night, and instead of HSP it showed Drew Careys new show.

It was on at 11pm i think, and it was not a new episode.

They showed a new episode at 7 p.m. CST and some old ones later.  Sunday night they usually show older episodes, but this week they didn't.

Yea, the DVR was set to record new episodes only, and what it recorded was listed as HSP but it was not...guess ill have to re-record it.

GSN, and some other networks, has developed this thing when listing program information and episode numbers/air dates.  They have started just putting the original air date for the first episode ever, so your DVR doesn't recognize it at new.  I have to set mine to record all and just fish through them.
