I play in a pretty regular home game - every other Wednesday night - at another guys house.  I basically run the game for the most part and don't mind doing it - that way it is run better and goes smoother.  We start with T10,000 for a $15 buy in - nothing major obviously.  Blinds are:  (with 15 min levels - which I think are to short but I made this concession)
50-100
75-150
100-200
150-300
200-400
300-600
400-800
500-1000
600-1200
800-1600
1000-2000
1200-2400
1500-3000
2000-4000
2500-5000

Usually about 8-14 people.  Last night two new guys show up - early signs are they are decent players and seem to know what is going on.....after about an hour....one guy asks ... how much we started with (blinds were at 200-400) - I told him 10000 and he starts in on how bad the schedule is and we should be way ahead in the blinds...he goes on to say..."in my home game we only start with T5000"...I ask where starts the blinds and how long the blind levels are .. he tells me they start the blinds at 5-10 (which is better than 10000 and the blinds at 50-100 he points out) and use 15 min blind levels...now my curiosity is up and I ask how the blinds increase...he says they double every 15 minutes..

5-10
10-20
20-40
40-80
80-160
160-320
320-640
640-and so on...

and to top it off..he complained that my chips (Paulson Solid GCRs from Apache) weren't heavy enough and the Copag cards were to slick....needless to say...I sort of chuckled and said to myself...."Can't wait to post this at HPT".... Smiley

Agreed - I was more offended about the comments about the chips than the structure we use. Smiley

Actually his structure is much better since it's more predictable.

Also, he's using real clay chips which have the official weight of 11,5g or even better 13g per chip which is much better than those cheapo chips you're using.

And last but not least: Copags suck. You can't even mark those cards as you can with real cards.

I do hope you were playing on the kitchen table, cuz those felty things are absolutely horrid.

I think I have to agree with the two  new guests. As a long time HPT member, I will take those nasty chips off of your hands. Hell, I will even pay for shipping.

So, he showed up at someone's house for the first time and complained about the blinds, cards, and chips?

I don't know, he sounds like dead money that thinks he's a real 'poker player'.  At least invite him back for a cash game. Evil
But yeah, still not worth putting up with, huh?

I can tell you he wouldn't be coming back to mine!  If his game is so great he can continue to enjoy it and not come back to mine!  He knocked Paulsons?  AND who the hell doesn't like playing poker with nice plastic cards?  especially some Copag's?  He must use dice chips and bicycle's and I'll bet you his chip colours aren't anywhere close to matching standard denominations, they're likely all over the map!  pfft!
