villian was a very tight play...i put him on a big pair or at least an over pair to this board...i wanted to get the money in at some point but wonder if my raise post flop scared him off

That's just a terrible Flop for getting a tight player to throw a lot of chips at. There are a TON of hands that either have him crushed or maybe even just flipping against a combo draw. He probably had AK and you're not getting anything from him anyway.

you are prob. right...i was raising with the hopes he had a big pair...i simply cannot slow pay the hand the board texture the way it was...i dont fault my raise just a bit miffed he folded...everything he did screamed AA-TT at the very least

IMO there is nothing you can do in this spot. Any hand you let take a free card here can be dangerous...any A 6 or 5 is a really bad card...not only because of the fact that it made his hand but also because if it didn't he's not calling a bet with a weakish hand. You have to play this hand fast in this spot and just hope he has JJ and shoves...not much other choice.

exactly the hand i was hoping for...some sort of overpair.  AK is the most likely hand he had.
