Not sure anybody here's tried that ... I doubt it would get a bend out of the cards, would just make the actual surface of the card smoother.
Try it on a joker or an offer card and tell us what happens. I'm kinda curious.

The wife forbid me to use her iron. Now there is the temptation to be a bad boy and use it when she is shopping some day. Tough being an inquisitive man. Even tougher to be a good boy.

If you're that driven to try it, I think I'd go buy a cheapo iron, rather than face the wife's wrath if she comes home to melted plastic on the iron... Hehe

you could place it in an old rag/towel before yoy apply th eiron, this would keep any plastic from directly touching the iron (still don't think that's going to work, but I do like experiments)

I'm with sunderB and would *for sure* not apply the iron directly to the card.

What disturbs me most is both of your negative attitudes. You may be correct, but I want to give it a try. And I am ever hopeful. You can call it a negative attitude if you want. Personally I was trying to give helpful advice of how would be able to try to fixed your warped cards in a way that would not leave evidence on your wife's iron and put you in the dog house. In my book that's trying to be of assistance.

No offense intended. The suggestions are well received, just the comments about not having any success with the effort.

I tried running a bent Qh through a heat laminator (between two sheets of paper).
It came out flat!
But also wider and longer...
So my 25 years old Fournier deck is mostly used for practicing pitching now.

That is good news, gives me some hope for success.

I stuck some warped cards into a manila folder and ironed on low heat. It did fix the warp, but they all shrunk in size. This made the whole deck useless because I didn't want a bunch of different sized cards. I would try more of a press idea that didn't involve heat.

Try putting them in an oversized coffee cup and let em sit with a slight bend overnight. Then turn them around the other way for a while.

Won't that stain the cards?

This has been a fun thread, the wife will let me use her iron with her supervision on her next day to iron.
Time to reveal the cards in question....a brand new deck of GEMACOs. The blue deck from the Star set. GEMACO customer service is NOT. No way would they replace them. I called and asked. My first GEMACO cards, and I am not heartbroken, as I don't really like them.
So if I pooch them, no problem. Just another point on the warp-unwarp curve.

GEMACOS hold a warp like NOTHING ELSE ON THIS PLANET. It is why I hate them so much.
Coffee cup (empty) method works fine for most cards. You can even add warm (NOT HOT) water to the cup to make them more pliable.

I tried the coffee cup trick. It looked like it worked, but left stacked in the box over night the warp returned. My last attempt will be with my wifes iron, tomorrow.

Would it work to store them with a weight on them to keep them from warping in the first place?

Don't call ... simply ship off the cards to Gemaco c/o "Warranty Replacement" with a note saying how much you enjoy their products, but got this defective deck.

Then he will be out of a deck, and still out of pocket. I am telling you, GEMACOS are the worst, and so is their customer service.
I will NEVER purchase another set-up, and will give away any that I happen to receive.

I'd bet he gets a new replacement ... In the worst case he's out an unuseable deck .

The experiment is concluded and now I have a totally screwed up black and white joker.
The iron willl not work, at least on this deck.
I am not heartbroken as I don't like these cards, just bought them to try out. The other deck that is not warped will be given to the local Veteran's Post. I just have to find a box for one poker sized deck.

i agree. i hate Gemacos. when KEM was in limbo for a while when USPC bought them out, we used them at the casino, and none of the dealers liked them. no big loss if you pooch them.

Gemacos are my favorite cards (Glad that Borgata and Sands use them ) But I bought 3 setups and one setup had both decks warped :| ! Judging by this thread, it seems that it's common. That's so unfortunate since I prefer them over Kems/Copags. I guess it's back to Kems for my to-go deck for the home games

With an iron you will probably burn them, lol. Try to put something heavy on the cards for a day or two.

I've mostly had Copag's as our main use in my league and I've had them warp and also had the colours from the backs of the cards bleed into the face of the cards above them. I personally prefer Modiano's to any others that I've used. KEM's are the only cards we haven't had, and at $30+ set up I probably won't unless I'm gifted a set up! I can get Copag's much cheaper and can live with the odd deck going foul. None are ever going to be fool proof
