The only time when we move players to different tables during our multitable games is when a player bust outs and makes a table uneven.  I use the Tournament Director 2 to manage the game.  The computer tells me when to move a player.  Should players ever be moved to a different table without busting out players?  For example, if you're playing in a rebuy tournament and a player busts and rebuys, does he keep the original seat or do you switch him out at a different table?  Do you ever switch players randomly just to change up the game play?

Only move players when tables become uneven.  Once the final table has been determined I always have the players redraw for seat position. In a rebuy tourney you don't move a player just because they rebought.

One of my players thought it would be a good idea to move a player after they rebought so that he would not have to play at the table that knocked him out.  I told him that he stays at the same table.  I knew I was right.  Thanks!

Actually, almost every casino I've played in DOES.

But I don't.

I was talking about the "in a rebuy tourney you don't move a player just because they rebought".

Casinos do that.  They essentially treat rebuys like new buyins.

OK, that makes more sense. I would have assumed that you (or your software) would redraw for final table. As for the re-seating after a bust out., I hadn't ever seen that before but I have seen players stay in the same seat after a rebuy in a casino. Different strokes I guess. Seems like having them stay seated would be lower maintenance and cause fewer issues than moving.
