THERE ARE SCREEN SHOTS OF THE FINAL TABLE OF THE POKER STARS APPT SYDNEY EVENT IN HERE. IF YOU ARE WAITING ON RESULTS FROM THIS THEN THIS IS YOUR OFFICIAL WARNING!!!!!
just in case.....I was watching the live feed of the Poker Stars APPT Sydney and noticed a few things about the dealing procedure.
First: Is this just a single deck shoe?

I saw two different dealers, one held the shoe and the other left it on the table.
Next: The burn cards were handled much differently. The pot was always on the dealer's right hand side and the muck on the left hand side. Here is the flop, turn, and river in sequence and how the burns are placed.

As I started to pay specific attention to the dealers looking for quirks, advantages, etc. I also noticed the top card slide off and expose the next board card.

I kind of like the differences. The shoe helps prevent things like dropping the stub, bottom dealing, etc. Obviously things that you shouldn't have to worry about at all in a casino or with a competent human at a home game but it happens - as evidenced by some threads starting on here.
I'm not too sure I see any real advantages or drawbacks or where the burn cards are placed other than this. When both dealers would burn and take three cards for the flop they would almost always somehow brush the burn card with the board cards. If they got even a little sloppy controlling the board cards they could easily be mixed with the burn. It wasn't as noticeable on the turn and river but did happen a few times.
I prefer how I, and most - if not all - of us here, have learned to deal the board and handle the burn cards. The shoe seems like overkill and completely takes the artistic "pitch" out of the deal.
Thoughts?
