Seat assignment ?

How do you assign your seats in tournament?  We draw cards at the beginning of the game.   

We also draw cards to see who deals first. 

Do people normally sit in the same seat?

Do you sit anywhere you want? 

I was just wondering if there was another way of find out where people sit.

I push the button which randomizes table and seat assignments.

People should not normally sit in the same seat.  That's bad for poker.

I have 43mm Ceramics that have seat assignments on one side & "Bounty" on the other ....
  Everyone picks a bounty chip, & at the same time gets their seat number ...
    Also,  It's not a big deal, but  it saves a bit of time, if you just put the dealer buttion & deck of cards in front of "a seat" ahead of time,  before they draw for seats ... since it's random at that point who will be the dealer, no real need to have a 2nd 'event' to decide the dealer ... Or, let everyone know that whoever draws 'seat 1' gets to pick their exact seat,  & is the dealer button ..... the other numbers sit clockwise from his seat choice ....

If we use cards to draw seats, whoever draws the ace, gets the first seat, and is the dealer. Saves having to draw cards twice.

In tourneys we draw cards for seats and deal out high card for button.

For cash games everyone has a seat card which are randomized then dealt out. Button is again determined by dealing out for high card.

I use OWG's seating/bounty chips (http://forums.homepokertourney.com/index.php/topic,20713.0.html). They're not on his site, but I think he still has some lying around if you're interested.

They're numbered Dealer-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10.
Since I'm the dedicated dealer, and need to sit at the dealer position of the table, I draw first (or have someone draw for me). All other players sit on the seat number relative to me. So if I draw "2", then the player who draws "Dealer" sits two seats to my left, and gets the dealer button. "1" posts the first SB, "2" posts the first BB.

Nice thing is they also double as bounty chips (like Blaster's set).

what i do is have a crappy deck of cards and put peoples name on them and deal them out and i have one seat that starts the deal

I think drawing cards is the simplest method to use...it's what i've always done.

I've made seat assignment buttons (but they are spare, I prefer to do the seating in advance on the computer).

I have 6 different colours, 10 of each, numbered 1-10. And then 6 cups in the same colours I put on the tables to identify them.

I don't draw dealer button separately, since seating is random it is random who gets which seat (seat 1 and 2 start with the blinds).
