I would like to get a clear answer for the following problem:
home Tournament game.
3 players left
Red cards dealt to eac of 3 players
dealer is1st to and act bets "all in" with pocket 7's
small blind folds
big blind calls with AJ suited

Here's where the problem starts

Big blind erroneously picks up blue deck and proceeds to deal flop; turn; river.
Pocket 7's hold up.

The wrong person, dealt with the wrong deck
2 people did not act after the blinds because there were only 3 people in game.

Does hand hold? Or is there an irregularity?
If so, How do you properly correct?

That's pretty easy, and I honestly don't believe that one of the people in your game didn't point this out...

You say, "Ooops".  You take all the blue cards and throw them to the side and do things with the red deck as if nothing happened.

The hand does NOT hold.  There is no irregularity.  You simply reflop, reburn, return, reburn and reriver using the red deck.

Now, if there had been action after the blue deck was used...that's where we start having problems.

This is why using two decks in a poker game with a rotating dealer is asking for trouble. Use one deck.

Also, you should never fly or drive anywhere because a fatal accident can happen.

...because this could never happen with a single dealer and two decks...

Dr Neau

Thanks for the reply.  It makes perfect sense.  The problem, however, is bigger than that.

The dealer had the pocket 7's and the player dealing from the wrong deck had the AJs.  The error was discovered as the red cards were being mixed/shuffled.  The player with the pocket 7's felt that both players had a fair flop and the hand should stand because the correct deck was mixed (by him).

Does this change your opinion.  Please elaborate since I really want to get it right without causing bad fellings.

Doesn't matter what deck was mixed, if the wrong deck was dealt then it doesn't hold.

I'd flip the table.

wrong deck = meaning less scrap  of paperif there was action I would make all efforts to reconstruct the hand properly back to the flop. hopefully the blue deck wasnt shuffle so everyone will have the right to the intended flop.
