I'll be honest, I don't really like the pre-flop call to begin with. Playing hands that lead to the second nuts like kx suited hands will put you in situations like this all day long. Now as far as the river call, when you lead after you had been calling the whole time and he raises you, I think I'd say you're beat unless he is the type of donkey that will raise with just a 2 here, or maybe 2 pair which is unlikely. It is reasonably cheap, but I don't think I would call here unless you have some history on him that shows he could make this move with less.

As played, I fold.

But, I don't play it preflop.

You have to ask yourself this on the river:  Are you betting for value?  Do you intend to fold to a raise?  I think as this works out, if I have your hand on the river, I'm check/calling, unless he pots it, and then I have to re-evaluate.  "Potting" is the new value bet in PLO.

I don't even complete in the first place much less call a raise pre-flop.

As it stands, I probably getting 3:1 and having three of the Diamonds accounted for in your hand (more reason not to play in the first place and good reason to not chase) which decreases the chances of villain having a Flush. He might have non-Nut Flush, Straight, Set of Aces, etc. If you have solid book on villain then you can fold but the chance of donkage is too great here to pass up those calling odds IMO. Plus you still have a viable stack afterward. If you're beat then you can just chalk it up as a lesson to fold that hand pre-flop. Wink
