Ugh....tough hand. People just can't fold their draws sometimes...but really a gutshot and a flushdraw in PLO is NOT a lot of outs...tough beat.

Sometimes, people just can't fold their 4-5-K-K preflop...

I don't think I can fold pre here, really.  I could be wrong, but this hand seems too strong to not try to take the blinds with (especially since it's rare at this point in the tourney to have multiple callers.)  A smaller raise might have been better.  I'm sure 3x is too big for hold 'em late in a tourney, and it might be too big for plo this late as well.
Seriously, but do you guys really think KK45 is an open fold in this spot?

Personally, I look for coordinated hands...that was pretty uncoordinated.

I think it could be....it also depends on who is in the blinds. If you felt like it was steal-able, then I think it was the right play....but it is the type of hand that will but you in some tough spots, and like Neau said it's uncoordinated.

This........

Your three suited, the odds are once the flop comes your not going to have a solid re draw to a better hand. You either need to flop low cards and play for the straight, or hope your K's improve. Ideally, you want your 4 cards to work together. They don't at all in this situation.

No question in my mind.

We talk a lot about people over valuing AAxx in Omaha...this isn't even as good as that.

And interestingly, all of the small stacks had folded before you, but you still had all the big stacks yet to act.

My first reaction was "I would have folded at least on the flop".

But then again, what could the BB really have when he goes all in on the turn?

He can't have a flush (because there are no 3 cards of the same suit out).

He can't have a straight because no cards on the board would fit a straight.

Ha can't have a full house (because there's no pair on the board).

Two pairs? Well three kings will beat that.

Three of a kind? There's no Ace on the board so it must be Queens or lower.

So I guess that once we get to the turn it's an obvious call. However maybe we shouldn't have gone that far...

Well, anyone can look this up, but to save the trouble:

Preflop: Hero was 57.42% to 42.58%
Flop: Hero was 65.61% to 34.39%
Turn: Hero was 67.50% to 32.50%

By my figuring, the worst situation Hero could've been in on the turn was up against Ad Jd Ts 9s.  That would make it 57.50% to 42.50%.

So yeah, no question calling with top trips and a clear lead on the turn.  Can't fault that.

I don't get why NFA is getting grief over his play. He has Kings with one of them suited. His specific hand is in the top 5% of all PLO hands which he's playing from the CO after having it fold to him. He gets one caller and fires a cbet on the Flop after having it checked to him, turns the Nuts, then gets it all in. How is it that a suboptimal play?

Huh  top 5%?  Huh

And to be clear...the only play I'm questioning is the pre-flop raise.
