I feel like this has to be a bet.  I don't mind it on earlier streets - if you are pretty sure you can induce a bet into you - hoping to get the villain to bet into a made hand.  But with the nuts on the river I have ot get more money in the middle hoping CO has 77 / TT and doesn't believe you have the flush.  If he folds so be it.  He'll never really know you had the flush....

I was really confident he had a set...and thought he would call a bet....except I overbet the pot. I think I should of bet about half my stack or so as I'm thinking thats probably about the most he'd call. I acted before I realized that it completed the straight and the flush....

Oops, I forgot to answer the "how much" part.  I was going to say about $2 on the river.

Bet $3, he won't fold a good TP, 2pr, sets, worse flushes, straight, etc, but may check back a lot of those hands, only reason to check is if u think he's bluffing and will fold to a bet.

Have to bet.........

The first number that jumps out at me is $2.25. However, I would also consider shoving in this spot as well.

Thanks for the input everyone....I ended up shoving and he tanked it and folded. I think $2-$2.25 is a better number to get a call with the way the board looked at the end.

A value bet is a bet for value (as much as you think your opponent will call.)  It doesn't have to be super small.

Exactly. A value bet *could* be a shove of many times the size of the pot. As for the OP's bet, a shove could work depending on the situation. It would also help if you are shoving in that situation when you *don't* have it so that you optimize your overall return.

i think a value bet around $2 would be the best course here.  got at least bet an amount where the villian is enticed to call or may shove back thinking u may be bluffing
