Seeing DD's posts in the 'new nice hands' thread got me thinking that we need a thread for posting brags (no matter how minor) for tourney wins or cashes. So, if you want to, here's a place to post some tourney brags... I'll go first. It was just a $2 buy in 8 game tourney with only 36 players entered, but still...: PokerStars Tournament #305342649, 8-Game Buy-In: $2.00/$0.20 USD 36 players Total Prize Pool: $72.00 USD Tournament started 2010/08/30 1:45:00 ET Dear Becoming,Pt2, You finished the tournament in 1st place. If it's not obvious, everyone can feel free to post any brags in this thread. I think we need a place to brag...

Dear detroitdad,
You finished the tournament in 4th place. A USD 30.00 award has been credited to your Real Money account.
These are proving very profitable for me.
I have played in 4 of them.
3rd 3rd 14th 4th
3 out of 4 cashes. Not to bad.
I think I used all of my "Good Luck Timing" in this one. Three times I got all in.
my 10's vs 9's
my J/10 vs 10/9
my 8/7 vs a/k (we both had 1 spade, flop came three spades with a 7, and my 7's held up).
This was all just to get to the final table. I folded A/K in the cutoff cuz I knew I would get called, and didn't want to race (three bigger stacks were to my right).

Nice job NFA....I've done that once before myself....click register before I read that it's high only. Usually When I see Limit Omaha it's Hi-lo. I can't really stand to play high only in limit anyway.

Thanks. I don't know when the last time was that I played a limit omaha high tourney. I knew they had them since I played before but I certainly always think of limit omaha as high low also. I'm glad I played it (even if I made a whopping $25 for like 5 hours of playing), but I don't think I'll be playing one again. The game just seems pointless when it's not pot limit.

Exactly my thought. No protecting your hand and you really can't get much value for your big hands...really takes away the fun of PLO IMO.

I won a 26 man live tourney at a buddy's house on Friday night. One interesting hand I was the dealer with Ad Kc. After the flop of 2d 6d 8d three players went all in in front of me, two of whuch were drunk and talking about how badly they wanted to go home. The third I thought might have a flush but figured what the hell, I had all 3 covered and would still have 1/3 of my chips if I lost . The one player I was worried about showed 10d Jd the other two had nothing. The turn brought the Qd with a blnk on the river and I became a huge leader.
It seemed as if I was in the zone the rest of the night, guessing pretty accurately on other's hole cards etc. I only wisf i could bottle that feeling!

I don't care if it's only 14 players and only a $3 buy in. Winning a private tourney with friends (as this was) always feels great. It may only be 39 players and it might have taken like four hours and twenty minutes to profit $26, but I don't care. Winning an 8 game tourney always feels good. way past, but my best overall was the Paradise Poker Million Dollar freeroll about 5 years ago. I qualified by placing top ten in a field of 5000. Final table was 10,000 players and I went out 212 for $50. I could have done better, but the wife made me quit because it was girls night and I was supposed to be gone. When I started my all in fest I was top 20 in chips. Looking back I could have posted and folded, but the payout didnt inprove until you hit top 50. No was my stack would have lasted that long.
I will brag on my wife about 6 months ago. We were playing a cash game at a friends house. Cheap .10/.20 game. We would play NLTH and hi/lo. biggest pot of the night may have been $20 and that is pushing it. We are playing hi/lo and on the flop I caught top set, sevens. Flop was 2,4,7 rainbow. On the turn I hit a boat as the board paired fours. Now there was a flush draw on the board as well, 2, 4 diamonds. On the river was a 5 of diamonds. All this time there are 4 people in the hand. everone checking, betting, calling, trying to trap you name it we were working each other. After the river I figure I am good for the high with the boat, and everyone else is playing a low, maybe a flush or straight for a high if they got lucky catching runner runner. I cant remember who started it after the river, but someone bet, there was an all in raise, I called all in, wife went all in, and the forth guy called. I throw my cards over and state I got the high. Guy by me hit the 5 giving him a boat, the other guy was playing us both as he turned quads fours. I dont have a low, the other two guys have weak lows. . My wife turns hers over and she is sitting on A3 diamonds. She flopped the nut low, rivered the straight flush for the high and walked off with around a $150 pot in .10/.20 poker.

Won the TCUPL October Omaha tournament. MD50 buy-in.
Hand of the night.
We're down to 3 players. I get 9-T-J-X in the SB. I get in for a limp.
Flop is 6-7-8 with 2 clubs. I have the nut straight with a chance to improve it. I have no flush draw.
Player 1 bets pot. Player 2 re-pots (which I LOVE cuz that means they might be fighting for the same outs). I re-pot all-in. Player 1 calls and Player 2 calls all-in.
Player 1 has a 10-high straight (like me, but with no chance to improve) and a flush draw. Player 2 has 2 pair.
Turn is a blank 2.
River is a 10 of diamonds, improving my hand to a J-high straight and giving me the whole pot.
I take an approximate 8-1 chip lead into heads up and go on to win MD485.
