Hello,

I bought a brand new 2 deck setup of Copag 1546s (Poker size, Jumbo Index) about two months ago.  They have been used on less than 10 occasions, for no more than 4 hours per session.  The ink on the face of the cards is beginning to rub or flake off, leaving a spotted appearance:

Both the black and red cards are experiencing the problem, but the black is definitely more noticeable.  Has anyone seen this behavior from Copags before?

I know I should just call Copag and find out from the source, but do you think I have a case for replacement?  I haven't used these cards in any way outside of what is expected, they've always been dealt on felt/speedcloth surfaces, and I've used them far less than what I'd consider 'extensively'.

My 1546's had the back colors bleed onto the white of the card backs ... didn't render them unplayable, just ugly ...

Now my Exports, the colors of the face cards bled on to the backs, marking them and making them useless for poker. My mom, however, loves the jumbo indexes for solitaire. Smiley

This is exactly what happened to me....but it also took over 2 months of being used just about every night for it to start happening.

These are also playable, just not what I expected from an $8.50 deck of cards after two months of occasional play.  Undecided

Your mom has good taste.

I don't think I can go back to standard index now...the tiny numbers just look odd to me.   Wink

Wow.  I can only wish I played that much live poker!  We're lucky if we get 6 people to our weekly home game.   Undecided

Boy I hear ya there ... our game started in 2001 and was every Friday and usually some part of the weekend, and at least one night during the week if there was a good game on to watch during ... then we spread out and got job and spouses and kids and mortgages and more kids and ... you get the drift. Now we play like 6 times a year.

From what I've learned over the years, all plastic cards have this problem, its just a matter of usage/time. Plastic-coated paper by definition, does not have this problem, but of course, others.
