My brother and I are taking a twilight run to Tunica, MS to try to catch the weekend losers getting their money back.  I'll have a trip report Monday morning.  Holla

Wow.  I.  Am.  Exhausted.

We left out about 1 a.m. Sunday morning because my brother works 2nd shift.  We arrived in Tunica around 4:30.  It's easily a drive I have made in 2 1/2 hours, but we were taking our time.

There was zero limit action going in town, and I generally don't play NL cash.  But, I knew that if I wanted to play before 9 a.m., I was going to have to bite the bullet.

1/3 NLHE--Horseshoe
This was a ton of fun.  I feel like things went my way.  I pretty much held the deck on hands that I played, and I was always the youngest person at my table by a minimum of 20 years.  I don't know if these players were exceptionally bad, or if all 1/3 players are.  If they are, I have definitely been missing out for the past few years.

I felt like I was the best player at both tables that I played at on this trip.  That's an egotistical thing to say, but it really is more of a point of how bad these guys were, not my skill.  I am not well versed in live NLHE cash.

I got shown a bluff by a fellow on a board of AAA 6 J.  I had pocket fives and had raised pf, and gotten 3 bet by the button...after we both checked the flop and then I check/called the turn, I checked the river and he bet $50 (about 2/3 the pot) I immediately counted it out to call.  I was almost certain I had him, but to be honest, I wanted to make sure I locked up a win.  He looked nervous and I hated myself but I folded.  He rolled over 57 and I got bluffed.

In retrospect, I'm glad he did it.  I was certain he had nothing ,but I wussed out and folded.  I made the decision to go with my gut and not leave money on the table just because I was afraid of losing.  The rest of the session, I was pretty much dead on.  I was check/raising, folding top pair, and it was always the right decision.  Again, things were going exceptionally my way on this trip, but it was a HUGE confident boost to my game.  I feel like I learned more in the 10 hours of playing yesterday than I ever have in a session.  I will try to type up some notable hands today while my son naps.

BTW, 10 hours of 1/3 NL, +$1100

Ok, here's the first big hand I played.

I was up from my $200 buy in to a stack of about $390, give or take a few bucks.  I was in the cut-off (as much as I hate lingo) and 4 people limped for $3, and I limped with  8 of hearts 9 of hearts  .The lady OTB raised to $12.  She is a regular, I've seen her play several times, and she had about $500 in front of her.  Other stacks ranged from $80 to $200

3 people and I call the $12, the pot is about $60.

Flop:  jack of hearts 7 of diamonds 7 of clubs

I'm not nuts about gutshots on paired boards, but a guy in MP bet a whopping $10 into the pot.  I called the $10 hoping for no raise, but the button raised to $35, which was still a tiny raise.  I immediately put her on a pair of Queens or Kings.  The MP bettor folded, and I decided that if I hit a 10, I was ok...I took a minute and called.  However, I called with the sole intention of check/raising the turn to represent a seven as long as a Q or K doesnt hit the turn.  Pot is $130, heads up.

Turn:   ace of hearts

What a great card for me, I thought.  Not only will the 7 slow her down, but this ace might actually make her check the turn and give me a free card.  I took about 20 seconds to check, and she bet out $50.  I take another few seconds and raise to $125.  To me, this raise screamed, "I have a 7", but maybe not.  She tanked for a while and finally called.

River:   5 of hearts

My only thought here was, she has to have been thinking I was bluffing.  I had $189 her and just moved it all in, and it took her a minute or two, but she called.  I win a big ol' pot.

Thoughts?  Flame away.

EDIT:  She showed AJ for top two pair, and in my opinion, she played it bad on every street.

I think you played it well, the check raise on the turn is a great play for what you put her on (QQ or KK), and to me her small raise on the flop after a bet and caller was inviting hands like yours to play...she played that hand terribly IMO.
