...I was wondering how you can tell if they are new or used. I bought them off of Ebay, and they were advertised as new, but I'm not so sure. The box had unbroken seals and each deck was cello wrapped, but the cards weren't in  "casino" order (Ace of Spades to Ace of Hearts). Both decks also had no jokers. If they are used that's fine as well, I'm mostly wondering how you can tell the difference.

thanks,
Mike

No idea, but Kems, do not come in "casino" order either, if that means anything . . .

What I mean is that I have never received a deck that went A-K and back throughout the deck.  Usually a randome card for each suit is out of "order".  Did not mean to imply that the decks I received had been "washed" and re-packaged.

All cards i have from the WSOP came in order, wrapped in cellophane, no jokers, certificate of authenticity and a card that shows the ID# of that specific deck. If the edges look clean then they're probably new. But if they came out of order, i would say they were used or re-wrapped somehow by the seller.

The majority of the KEM (USA) WSOP decks are re-packaged/wrapped after they see the limited use during the WSOP, & sold off as 'collector's decks' ....
No doubt there are decks in the print run that are 'extras' that never get opened or used, but that's the 'idea' behind the WSOP Kem's ...
Since yours was 'out of order' .. I would guess it's one of the decks that was actually used ...

Thank you all very much for the replies, I appreciate them. I'm also wondering if these cards are any better/different than the standard KEMS?

They are the same manufacture as the regular KEM's .

There is a difference tho.  and that's the USPC's quality or lack of it.

The cards are inspected for defects before they are shipped out!

Later nthis week I'll be ordering a setup of Paisley KEMs. I'll let you know what I think of them when they arrive.

New Kems are packaged each suit from K to A, ace being on top, never any with K on top... when you say "casino order" are you referring to suit order like this when spread: hearts, clubs, diamonds, spades? Kems don't come that way either. i've opened a couple hundred new setups so i know.

That is what I meant. I have seen other decks that are used in casino's (mostly paper decks) in that order so I assumed that they all came in that order.

Hello,

The KEMs arrived on Saturday. I've had a chance to use both decks and I'm quite satisfied with the cards overall. They were in the same order as my WSOP KEMs. These decks include an info card on how to contact USPC in both the USA and Canada and a card with Poker suits. Every card seems to be centered and evenly cut. These decks (minus he jokers and info cards) are the same thickness as the WSOP decks. My only gripe is that the 8 of Spades in the red deck has a faded area on one corner. I assume I can get this replaced by USPC since they manufactured the deck?

Thanks,
Mike

Try to exchange the damaged setup through your retailer first. Most will offer a quality guarantee.

Else you need to send the damaged card and the Ace of Spades to USPC + $1 (I believe) and they will replace the damaged card and send the replaced card and the AoS back.

I got my replacement deck thru USPCC. The customer service was very good and from the time I sent off the defective card to the time I got back the replacement deck was 9 days... not bad at all.
