It doesn't help that I don't play o8 until its gone 1am and I'm exhuasted, but I'm feeling my noob with this game each day, the DC vid is a little over my head yet, so can people share some basic strat with me, like v.basic, hand chart type stuff, basic betting strategy and stuff would be great?

Anyone know a reputable hi/lo beginners site, I'm finding a lot of plo hi, but not much on hi/lo, I've heard conflicting revies on rayzee's stud and 08 book, would you recommend it?

Thanks.

What Neau said....the only other one that I have heard of is High-Low Split Poker, but that has more info on Stud Hi-Lo.

Read Ray Zee's Hi-Lo poker book.  You can probably find it for a few bucks online.  I did.

There is a points based system for starting hands . . . Hitchens, or Hutchinson, or something like that . . .

Very basic, tight system for what hands to play, raise, fold, etc.

nh, can you share the hh, with his hand I'm just wondering if its somewhat of a cooler if the money goes in on the flop or turn, or am I thinking in nlhe terms again, is villains set and potentially counterfeit low trash here?

I don't play much O8, but I can't see how getting in with a set of twos is ever anything other than awful after this flop, and on the turn is even worse.  I could be wrong, though.

I actually did save it off (first time I ever did).  Here you go...

One thing you'll notice is the banter between Pie_Ed and Just True.  Just True had just berated Pie_Ed for being too slow.  I used that to my advantage, hoping Just True would be crabby enough to make dumb choices.

I'll add....generally what you see in a game of people who know what the hell they are doing is that there's rarely more than a min-raise pre-flop.  You also don't usually see people going too crazy on the flop, unless more than one person has a nut bag, or there's only one low card and people are trying to chase out the low drawers.

But not a ton of bluffing...especially with 2 low cards on the flop.  Just not worth it.
