I know this is 08 (as in my hand is so not the nuts), but given my blockers and back doors, this is a comit right?

2nd nut straight on flop.  Your opponent had the nuts on the flop, plus the 2nd nut low draw.  You're never almost never scooping this pot. Something that is always got to be in an omaha players head is, big hands usually aren't that big of a deal on the flop.  You can't fold, but you can't put much in the pot, especially with the big threat of a low getting there, in which case your hand has almost no value at all.

yeah typo up there, 2nd... I'm thinking that I'll quickly bore of this when people stop calling down with air, I hate being a nit, fine and dandy at micro's as you get paid so well, but meh.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of PLO8 as a tournament game.  I prefer it as a cash game where you can sit back and wait for hands without having the pressure of rising blinds.

Now...in this hand, you started with what I'd consider one of the 10 worst starting hands possible.  Your only saving grace is that you were in the BB and got a free look, but that only partially excuses you from not throwing it away.

And why throw it away?  Because of exactly what happened.  You flopped 2nd nut high with the nut-crap low draw...and then you're stuck.

Your bet on the flop there serves virtually no purpose other than asking to give chips away.

Such a different mind set to hold'em, its going to take a few tough lessons to fully realize that I guess.

Just found an 08 series on DC though, hopefully that'll help, thanks.

The other thing about PLO8 compared to NLE in tournament play...your ability to push all-in preflop and steal the blinds when you are short. Can't do it in pot-limit.

I think I play better in fixed in this regard, as it forces me to play more post and pay attention, there are some nl o8 sng's, but I get lazy and shove hands that are probably stretching the definition of a legitimate stealing range, should one exist.
