After much success at the local i ventured out last friday given the ANZPT was in town and that meant lost of action.

playing 2/3

I had been going poorly to that point, and then saw this hand

i get dealt 1010 in MP

couple of limpers i raise to $18

fold, call, fold, fold, Call, Call, call, fold fold.

wow.

flop 10 J 6

Anyway i start licking my lips....I bet out as i normally dont slow play the fish on these tables...they donk of either way.

two callers

mmmm

Turn is a brick 8

I bet out again figuring no draws go there both call one is all in.

damn... so i decide to make a decent side pot just in case she had the straight  or something sick like that.

River comes a K and i am well worried a little at this point...

i bet out about 60% of the other guys reamining stack.  he bets the rest I call.

huge $550+ pot.   he flips JJ i was just so so guttered whenever I get that cocky I always get them chopped off...damn it.

That sucks.

Live poker is rigged. That proves it. Same thing happened to me about a month ago. Flopped set over set, my jacks to his queens. We were all in on the flop though and I couldn't improve.

Thank god we were only playing .50/$1, so I only lost $100.

A pair of tens against four callers doesn't have much edge.

Ok, the flopped set is nice, but it's not the top set and there could be several straight draws out there (7 8, 7 9, 8 9, 9 Q, Q K, 9 K, 8 Q). You don't mention suites so there might be flush draws too.

Set over Set. You're just going broke there. I wouldn't call an Eight on the Turn a brick though. A Q9 open ender is totally plausible.

Martini - yeah maybe but was so remote a chance that I didnt comment

Flush draw was possible but never made it.

I dont think I can put the eventual winner on obscure hands I had him on J10 at the bottom of his range, under pairs, AK, flush draws with an A in them but JJ was not what I thought he woudl call me with.  I figured he would repop it.  mind you he probably didnt think I would bet $18 with 10s. He figured I had AA or KK. Hated the K on the river also.

Still didnt fold his set but...lol.
