I was looking over some of my stats from PS the other day for when I was playing SNG tourneys. In the stats was one that calculated the amount of pots I won without showdown. Over 5k hands the number is right around 10% of the hands I've been dealt I have won without a showdown. At first glance this number seemed a little high to me....I'm just wondering what everyone else thinks. These stats are from 6-handed SNG tourneys. Overall I've turned a profit with these SNG's, so I'm doing ok, but Im just looking at things I can be doing better and wondering if maybe I'm not stealing enough pots, or maybe I'm betting people out of too many pots when I have them beat.

That is 10% of the hands you played? Or 10% of the hands you won?

In the later case the figure is very low. In the first case it depends on how many hands you played.

Quote
Cigital examined 103 million hands of Texas Hold’Em poker played
at PokerStars. In the majority of cases, 75.7% of the time, the game’s
outcome is determined with no player seeing more than his/her
own cards and some or all of the community cards. In these games
all players fold to a single remaining player who wins the pot.

So, only 25% of hands played go to showdown.

10% of the hands I was dealt I won without showdown. This was over approx 5k hands...I know thats probably not quite a large enough sample, but I figured it would be enough to get a good idea.
