I just came back from the Isle in Pompano FL and they now have the wildest 5 / 10 NL game you have ever seen.

For those of you that do not know Florida the maximum buy in @ a cash game is $100.00

Now if that is not sick enough they now have a 5/10 NL game with $5 antes.

Is that just insane or what!

That is pretty sick, sounds like something the Norwegian government could come up with on a lazy Friday night.

At the local bowling alley they have a 2/5 game with a max 200 buy in. I don't play, but its pretty much an all in fest.

more stupid laws to increase illegal underground games, way to go...

it'll be better if they have a 50c/100 blind, 100bb max game cap then this silly situation.

Can you rebuy, top up at all. You could just chip dump a ton to build everyones stack up and then play 100bb, then again you may as well just play at home.

I know at some of the 5/10 games at the Seminole Hard Rock they will chip dump until everyone has atleast 500 in front of them....that's about the only way to make the game work with a 100 max buy-in

That only works if you are at the table when it starts...... The only other way is to slip chips onto the table when at a 2/5 must move table.......

By the Way the Isle only followed the Hard Rocks lead on the $5 antes

Its not the cap I have a problem with...its the blinds.  If the law says cap it at $100, make the blinds appropriate: 50c/$1 or even $1/$1.

They have 1/2 games, but the max is the same at 100. Same for the 2/5 game. Honestly, I think 1/2 should be a min of 100....even if they make it 100 buy in min and max....

My point is, if the cap per the law is $100, don't offer a $2/$5 game.  What's next, a $10/$20?

If the legislature isn't going to raise the limit, then make your blinds reasonable given the table max.

I'll bet it has something to do with getting the max rake at the high-action shove-fests.

LMFAO our local casinos have a max buy in of 200BB for no limit games. But a 5/10NL game is super super rare - mostly we have 1/2NLHE, 1/2PLO, 5/10FL O8, and 10/20FLHE

6 month report on Florida cash games.    Most houses profits down everyone thought they would make a living playing but they couldn't beat the rake! .... best consistent action  PBKC and the Isle in Pompano.

Sickest game Mon to Thursday afternoons @ Flagler race Track. 100 - 200 NL with a 400 (agreed upon) mandatory straddle.... everyone in for 10 to 30K to start!
