I just started trying this a few minutes ago and don't know what to think about it yet.
Pros:  Insanely fast.  Fun.  Makes tracking software for opponents useless.  Takes berating of and potential embarrassment for bad plays out of the game (making playing bad have no social consequences.)
Cons:  No reads.  No setting up future moves.  Makes it easier for bad players to fold, both since they get in a habit of it, and because a new hand is always a second away.
Overall, this doesn't really seem like 'poker', and I don't know how it will affect the games in general.  Maybe it will die out soon, but maybe not.  It has definite advantages, but I just don't know what to make of it yet.

Also, if you don't know what Rush Poker is:

In a few hundred hands (which didn't take long at all) at 5c/10c, I've encountered some amazingly bad hands for people to stack off with.  It's hard to get action at these tables, but when you do I've found that it's open season on their chips.  I had someone call an all in on an all club flop with an OESD (I flopped a flush), saw someone call a 10bb raise with KTs, and call a 2x pot shove with a flush draw, and saw someone call a shove on the end with AQ that had nothing but top pair (the ace).  Maybe the play at these stakes is always this bad, but I think these tables can be extremely profitable.

Like kimert, this takes away my leak of getting bored and playing stuff I shouldn't.  With the potential for so many hands in a short period of time, it is easy to wait for a monster in position and stack someone off which has been happening quite often for me.  In between those monster hands, stealing blinds is scary easy so you can slowly build up that way as well.

One of those stack off opportunities I spoke of earlier.  Needless to say I am loving Rush Poker Smiley

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (9 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

MP1 ($20.24)
Hero (MP2) ($8.78)
MP3 ($10.55)
CO ($8.86)
Button ($11.14)
SB ($15.24)
BB ($6.94)
UTG ($10.20)
UTG+1 ($4.88)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 9, 9
2 folds, MP1 calls $0.10, Hero calls $0.10, 3 folds, SB calls $0.05, BB bets $0.50, MP1 calls $0.40, Hero calls $0.40, 1 fold

Flop: ($1.60) 9, 9, A (3 players)
BB checks, MP1 checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($1.60) 4 (3 players)
BB bets $0.75, 1 fold, Hero raises to $1.70, BB raises to $6.44 (All-In), Hero calls $4.74

River: ($14.48) 8 (2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: $14.48 | Rake: $0.96

Results:
BB had A, K (two pair, Aces and nines).
Hero had 9, 9 (four of a kind, nines).
Outcome: Hero won $13.52

One of the suck parts is the button doesn't move in order like a normal game. I had at one point 8 out of 9 hands where I was one of the blinds on a full ring table. That was frustrating.

Whoever has went the longest without posting the BB is supposed to post it (if two or more players at the table are tied for this, it's random).  However, the SB is completely random, and I certainly know that it can be really frustrating.

apparently its a "con", and a winning player has a reduced edge in rush, despite what it may seem.

I've been playing this off and on for the last couple of days, and I can honestly say that I've left the table each time with a profit (nothing gigantic, mind you, as I was only playing nickel and dime).

Like someone else earlier had mentioned, I'm not too certain what to make of it yet.  It certainly does move fast, and it does make you discipline yourself to only play better hands.  If you are the impatient type, it's nice to know that you can fold 'em up and move on right away and not have to wait for a hand to play out.

I don't know, just a different approach to our favorite game...

I thought I'd resurrect this thread to say that, without a doubt, rush poker>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>regular ring games, at least imo.

How do the rest of you all feel about it, now that it's been around a decent while?

I like it. Haven't become profitable yet because of the changes in strategies I'm trying. But I haven't gone bust yet either which I normally do within a month of putting money on full tilt lol.

Just tried it for the first time.

Don't know what to think of it compared to ring games but I enjoyed it.  I can see why some claim that it's addictive.

It's quite entertaining. One thing which has become quite apparent is that it's fairly easy to win at certain times during the day. I've had a decent profit when playing from around 9pm EDT. 3 or 4 hours earlier, I found it a struggle just to break even.

I've made a decent profit in Rush poker. Been playing it for about a week ($0.25/$0.50) and made $400.

That made up for the losses I suffered over at P* Smiley.

I don't fare too well anymore at the regular tables now though. No patience Wink

tried it for the first time tonight..............wow...............It will take some adjustment.

What about tips, strategies, ect....

I only played position and/or top 20 hands. Only limped a few times, almost always came in for a raise.

Apparently its common to raise any btn, and from what I've seen and heard there are a lot of 3b'ing going on in LP / blinds.

My strategy is actually to play rather loose in EP / MP, and steal somewhat less in LP, tho if I'm stealing I would be defending wide vs blind 3b's

Except for the standard 2 or 3 outers on the river after i have gotten them to spew off their stacks, yeah I know stop whining, I am enjoying it. The constant action seems to help keep the ol ADD from going berzerk.
