gt,
I'm down in Stafford and have built about 6 tables so far. If your willing to travel down here and put in some sweat equity, I'll help teach you how to build one.

If there is an American Sales in or near your area they have affordable 10 man folding leg tables for around 120 bucks.  I've been using them for my tourneys for several years and they have held up very well considering all the traveling they have done from location to location.

With two people and the right tools, it can definitely be built in an afternoon, including the trip to the lumber yard/hardware store.

I can build one by yself in around 6 hours to include the trip to Home Depot. Buy birch 3/4" plywood, legs, glue, staples (Stanley brand not Arrow), electric stapler, and screw at Home Depot or Lowes. Get you cloth and foam from yourautotrim.com, and get you vinyl from JoAnns fabric store with a 40% off coupon. You need 2 sheets of plywood, and 3 yards of foam, cloth, and vinyl. Let me know when you want to do it and I will give you my phone number. I can walk you through the steps as you go.

I forgot you also need 2 1x2 poplar peices for the supports.

In agreement with Wedge and Herb...Last year I flew out to Cali and built one for my buddy in a day. And that was running around in the morning getting supplies. What type of table are you looking to make. Just a standard oval with folding legs? If so we can knock that one out rather quickly, especially if there are two of us doing the upholstery work.

Send me a pm if your serious about doing this.
