i just cut my base today and stopped there before i do anything else i'm unsure about. i'm using the pcpotato template but when i did what i thought he was doing it didn't seem right.

to cut the round edges after i cut the board down to 40 inches wide. i found the center of the table and took a screw, string, and pencil to draw the round lines for the cuts. now from center to one edge is 48 inches and using that length for a radius the table didn't seem round enough.

so what i did was find the center point in the middle of the table center and the edge of the table. so....Edge -- Middle between the edge and center of board -- Center of board. kinda hard for me to explain i'm more a visual kinda guy. but basically i took half the length of the board 48 inches and found the middle point of that and started tehre with a 24 inch radius to the edge of the board and rounded from that point to get rounder edges. was that correct or did i screw up big already? if i screwed up i'm not sure how i'd make a rail for it now...or if i didn't screw up it does look like the edges could be a bit more rounded cause it looks more like a psp than an oval. (___) kinda like that.

wow these are just a string of terrible explanations i'm sorry for that. if anyone can try to help me though it's much appreciated. perhaps i can get pics up in the near future.

well i guess this is more of an updated description in clearer terms of my table so far.

i am using your tutorial on how to build a poker table and i came across something i didn't really understand in the first part. to cut the round edges of the table you find the center of the board, 20" x 48" correct? from what i understand from the instruction is to use the string with the length of the radius to draw the arc, the radius in this case from center to edge of table would  be 48 inches from the center?? i drew that arc and it did not look correct to me(it was no oval-ish at all) so what i ended up doing was finding the middle point in between the table center and the edge of one side, so i was at 20"x 24". so the radius of that was 24". i drew that arc and it looked a bit better and maybe this is incorrect also but i made the cuts. the end product of the base my table looks some what oval but no where near as round as the pcpotato base table does...can you correct me in whatever i did wrong? and how i would make adjustments to the rail for this?
