Hi. I have round (1.20meter diameter) poker table and i want to add bigger plate. what diameter should i use for 8-9 players? i dont want it to be too big for players to be able to reach comfortably for chips. BIG question is : how do i attach the plate so its removeable and fitting tight ?  pictures could help.

Agreed, pictures would help a lot. Does your table have a removable top already? I think it is going to be a tall order to find an existing larger top that will work perfectly with an existing table unless your model has one already.

As for size I think that 1.2 meter/4 feet tables are on the small side and can go larger. 1.52 meters/5 feet is too large. I would go more with a 1.37 meters/4.5 foot playing surface.

my table top isnt removeable. 1.37cm would be sufficient for 8-9 players?
im not looking for cup holders and rails. simply plain top .

Well, if you want to seat 8-9 players in total comfort then you should go with an oval table. If you want to give yourself more elbow room without having to reach too far into the middle I'd go with a 1.37m (I think a 1.37cm one would be too small, lol) table top. Problem is that most wood is going to come in a 4x8 foot size so the top would need to be pieced together. Still totally doable for a home handyman to make a topper to sit on your existing table. If you want to get fancy you could make a donut ring on the bottom that fits around your exiting table top so it can't move around but I'd say the weight alone is enough to keep it in place. Not hard to find even headliner padding and fabric from the local crafts store to cover it. Wouldn't hurt to get some extra fabric to put under it to protect your existing table top.

Since the majority of your playing surface will be supported by an existing surface you don't need much at all. 1/2 plywood would be enough I would say. The problem is that you're going to need two sheets to get the width you're looking for.

By donut I was saying you could make a ring that has an outer dimension the size of your top and an inner dimension that is a couple of cms bigger than your existing table. Then attach a surface to that (and vice versa) so that when you put the new surface on top the ring around the existing table will keep it from moving around though again, I don't think that will be needed.
