This was a HORSE tournament on Full Tilt I just finished up.  I'm still a little sick to my stomach over this one.  Why oh why couldn't it have been at the casino?!

Full Tilt Poker, $50/100 Hold'em Tournament, 4 Players
Hand Converter by Pokerhand.org

Board:
felacio queen1 (BB): $455
HERO (UTG): $6,130
SteveY8 (UTG+1): $4,380
AlaskaJon1 (SB): $1,035

Dealt to HERO jack of spades jack of clubs

Pre-flop:
HERO raises to $200, (2 folds), felacio queen1 raises to $300, HERO raises to $400, felacio queen1 calls $100

Flop: ($950) 8 of clubs jack of diamonds 2 of diamonds (2 Players)
felacio queen1 bets $55 and is all-in, HERO calls $55

Turn: ($1,060) jack of hearts (2 Players)

River: ($1,060) 8 of spades (2 Players)

felacio queen1  Showed 8 of diamonds 8 of hearts
HERO  Showed jack of spades jack of clubs
HERO wins $960

For what it's worth, I wound up winning the thing.

Yeah, it's an interesting hand, no doubt, but certainly no bad beat.  It's really just a pf all in between JJ and 88, made notable by how the board came out, but certainly not a bad beat.

I think the term you are searching for is, "cooler".

Actually, for felacio queen1, it was a kick in the junk.

What happened to felacio was a wicked pissa, no doubt.  But it in no way qualifies as a bad beat.  It's just an "it is what it is" poker story, not a bad beat story...

I disagree any brick and mortor casino that I have played in that would qualify for the badbeat jackpot. I mean how often are you going to see quads beat by better quads? Not a lot.

Most places I have played at you have to have Aces full of tens or better beat by a greater hand. Canterbury Park its Aces full of tens beat by quads or better. Cant have three aces on the board. Grand casino hinkly is alittle easier, you have to have aces full of tens beat by anything better. No aces on the board rule. I dont know the math...but its like 1 in 5000 or better that quads over quads happen.

I had almost this same hand happen.  Except I was holding the JJ and 88J came out on the flop.  All ins ensue and my buddy flips over 88 and the last J came on the river.  Epic hand that we still talk about.
