So, just curious.

If you're not able to pay enough attention to play a hand with pocket aces, how effective can you be overall playing 5 tables at once???

Seriously, though.  What's the theory behind playing 5 tables at one time?  That you'll win 5x as much in the same amount of time?

Getting a read on anyone online is hard enough when you're only playing 1 table.  How in the hell you do you play the player with 5 tables?

In all honesty, 5 is the absolute max for me, I usually 4-5 table, with 5 at peak times, and its harder still without a HUD.

General multi-tabling theory suggests that all though your win rate will be reduced, it is more then made up by the multiple tables when you consider your rate in $/hr terms.

Having gotten used to it now, I am probably best when 4 tabling.

Playing more than one table is not at all uncommon when playing online poker. Yes, the theory is that you will win more than you would playing just one table. A good player should be folding most hands anyway so someone multitabling can be taking care of business at another table instead of just waiting for a hand to complete at a single table. There will be situations where a player can get more than one table with playable hands though and on occasion miss a hand at a table but overall it is EV+ to play at more than one table as long as you can successfully juggle all the open windows.

I don't use them, but there are a lot of tools and 3rd party software app's to help with this, such as AHK scripts that will move a table to the side with a certain key combination. I don't have enough monitor space to utilize such features, so I just tile 4 and overlap one if I 5 table with my resolution set to have the tables fill the screen area as much as possible.

Kahn is playing 18 tables at once, he even had hes account closed because PS didn't think it would be possible.
He provided video evidence that it was indeed possible and hes account was reinstated.

For me 1 table usually is to much...

If you're asking about theory, playing more tables allows you to increase your overall $/hour. There of course is a limit to how many you can play at once based on many factors. No matter how many tables you are playing, even just one, there will be flukes where you miss a hand.

For me 1 table usually is to much...
Hevad Khan was playing 26 sngs at one time, not 18.
By the way, there are plenty of guys who 24 table small stakes NL cash games on PS.  They're nits and don't play very well, but they play high enough volume to grind out decent money.

Edit to add:  why is this in off topic discussion?

"Almost nothing to do with poker ", seemed to fit, not a lot of poker content in a "drat look what I folded post".
