Nice hand.

I think I turned quads twice last night, and rivere'd quads once. I did play at least 5k hands though lol.

Okay, so not a great hand, but I love that the opponent berated me for calling the turn.

It's weird, but you find some of the most hateful, arrogant people in HU matches, and not surprisingly, they tend to be about as good at poker as this guy (HGW XX/7 was the fish's screen name).

UTG plus 1 and I have 66. UTG limps, I limp, CO limps and BB all in for just over 2XBB. We all call. The flop is 6Q6 two clubs. checked around, turn is red 3, UTG bets 3/4 of the pot and I flat call, CO folds, the river is the 2c, UTG checks and I bet 2/3 of the pot, he calls and rolled AQ for top 2, top kicker. I'm good friends with both still in the hand and did something I shouldn't of but knew both of the two left in the hand wouldn't get mad so I said I have two pair also, waited second and said a pair of red 6's and a pair of black 6's for quads and turn my hand over. I know it was poor etiquette and I wouldn't have done it if it would of been different people.  AQ told me if anything but a club would of hit the river he was going all-in as we were all getting short.

The cash game was very live for me last night. WOW..............$50 buy in, cashed for $215. I had a bunch of nice hands. Here was probably the best of them.

I'm in middle to late position, the blinds are .25/.50. UTG makes it $2, two more players call. I look down at 8/9 Spades and decide its time to raise it up. I make it  $7. It folds around to UTG +1. She calls. I have very little history with her.

Flop comes rainbow, 5, 6, 7. Great Flop. She checks. I make it $9. She calls. The turn is an 8. I'm not worried about this card at all. I didn't see her playing 9/10 with a $5 raise pre flop.

She checks, I bet $20, she calls. Hmmmmmmmmmm. I think the River was a 5. Again, I'm not worried. She checks. I push for my last $28.25. She calls pretty quickly and shows Aces.

It was slightly over a $100 pot in a .25/.50 cash game. Awesome!!!!

I flopped 2 straights that night. The other one was with 7/10. I got paid off on that hand as well.

Weekly poker tournament, $10BI T7500, probably within the first 10 hands of the night.

Theres a guys in the group that we call "Chester". The previous week he won a few big hands with 6-4os (cracked aces, full house over flush...) So we labeled the 6-4os, the Chester hand.

I pickup 6-4os in the BB. UTG calls, fold around to Chester in the SB. Chester limps and i check my option. Flop comes X-6-6. Chester bets, i raised all-in and UTG folds. As he thinks, i look at him and say, 'I got the Chester hand.' He doesn't believe me and calls and rolls over J-6os.

I hit my full house on the turn and end up winning the hand.

I've always had this sort of subconscious rule that I would bum hunt up to 200nl (where the highest I play atm is 50nl), so tonight I decided to follow my target up to 200nl. I was fine at first, just treated every bet in terms of big blinds as you should, but coming v.close to shoving TPTK when knowing I shouldn't, but also not wanting to give up on a $140+ pot made me reconsider and I started to get cold feet. It was a little irritating as my target just reloaded for 50bb's and was happy to donate more money, coupled with an otherwise v.good table, it was v.tempting to stay, but I knew that loosing a $300 stack would upset me so I finished my session.

This isn't the biggest pot I have won online, thought its close. If I stacked both villains, one of whom was the reasons I was on the table in the first place I think I would have literally jumped up and down lol.

Not a "nice hand" but didn't know where else to post this.....just played a $3.40 SNG at Poker Stars .... got down to heads up...and here was a run of cards I had over 12 hands ... in order

6 of diamonds 6 of hearts

jack of clubs jack of hearts

ten of spades ten of clubs

ace of hearts king of hearts

ace of hearts ace of clubs

this hand put me in chip lead big time - other guy called with J9suited - flop came 99A - he bet I called - turn has a blank - he checked - I checked.....river was Q - he bet I RR - he went all in - I called -

6 of diamonds 4 of clubs

ace of spades king of spades

7 of clubs 2 of hearts

8 of clubs 8 of hearts

king of hearts queen of hearts

5 of clubs 2 of diamonds

5 of hearts 4 of spades - won it on this hand when I flopped two pair....

Just a sick run of cards - prolly will never see that again!  Wink

Live Game FRI. night. .25/.50 cash, PLO. I'm in the BB with J, J, A, 4 three suited (Ace/4 suited). 1 Limper, Small Blind Pots it, I call, limper calls. Flop is J, 3, 3. Looks good to me. I pot it (something like 10/11 bucks). Small Blind raises to 25. Hmmmmmmmmmm, ok.....I call.

Turn is a K, he checks, I bet 25, he pushes, I call..............Turn is nothing and my Boat holds up for close to a $100 pot.

Before any of the parties involved in the hand, or that were sitting at the table recount all my errors in the hand, everyone knows I suck at hand recollection.

Point is, I flopped a boat, got all the villains money  Grin

I love set-mining (when it works  Smiley)
I know the preflop call was probably questionable, you have to understand this table was nothing but pre-flop raisers and with crap at that.  I had position and planned to fold if I didn't hit.

Given I suck huge and should probably go back to 2nl, this will hopefully be my last "straty" post ITT.

Pre is fine, u likely have good IO and your deep enough that you can make a pure set mine profitable. Flatting the flop is fine, its a really dry board and the Q its less of a pfr's range then a Kx or Ax. You definitely should bet more on the turn though, your presumably not getting much value from anything but Ax anyway, so just build a big pot as if he calls here with TP he'll call the river the vast majority of the time ime. I would bet at least $1.20 on the turn, but if I'm expecting an Ax to call and anything worse to fold a bet of $2 is better. I'm not sure if this will allow a ~PSB shove on the river, but it would definitely give u more value.

One of the things I am weak at is knowing how much to bet to induce a call.  I usually wind up overbetting and getting nothing for my hand.

I guess I lied about no more strat lol.

What you should aim to do is to put your opponent on a range of hands, or at least categorize is likely holding, at 2nl something along the lines of he'll call pot with TPGK, an overbet with 2pr+ and up to 1/2 pot with any TP and a good MP, then balance your bet size to extract the most value, say if u have TPTK u don't want to overbet the pot as you'll fold out all u beat, so a bet between 1/2 pot and full pot will probably lead u the most ev for this specific situation.

If its a total station, or u have a nut hand, aim to size your bets so that you can shove AI for less then a full pot size bet, or if your over 100bb deep be all in for not much of an overbet on the river.
