Welcome to the new HPT Forums. I hope to make this the internet's #1 forum for the discussion of poker tournament structures and supplies. Most of you are already familiar with my main site located at www.homepokertourney.com but if you're not, check out the HPT Menu links on the left side of this page. The HomePokerTourney web site is loaded with all the information you need to host your own home poker tournament. Good luck and enjoy the forums! --------------- nutN2Lewz "I got nut'n to say and I'll only say it once!" Your website is awesome nutN2Lewz. Bravo on a job well done! GREAT forum as well!

To be honest I am just an amateur home card player. Got a 1000 piece chip set off ebay, play with cards out of a newsagent, and play on my coffee table with some friends for £10 a game. Looking to play a more structured, profesional game though and already have plans to buy good cards, and sort out a decent table, and try to get both myself and my friends playing better poker in a better environment.

You're definitely in the right place for all of that.

What's a "newsagent"? A newsagent is like a convenience store. I live in Scotland, and I gather this is mostly North Amereicans who post here so sorry for the confusion. You get a pack of cards for £1.75 Obviously just plain paper cards which are seriously bad quality so Kems or COPAGs will be purchased, based on the reviews on here I'm going for COPAG's.

I've just recently joined the forums as well, although been viewing / using the website to improve the home games I play in (also in Scotland).
I've a 300 chip Cartamundi set, 14g. Bought them a couple of weeks ago, really pleased with the so far. KEM cards (jumbo index, I wanted regular but the shop only had Jumbo).
Also I just bought a folding table top (no space for a full poker table just yet, maybe the next house I buy!), green felt with a wood effect racetrack, fits 10 players.
No photos yet, but we've a game at my place this weekend, so I may post some up next week.
Thanks to everyone who posts on the forums, the info has been a big help in getting our home games to run smoother and more efficiently!

Alriter Lawman where abouts are you based? And in what shops did you buy your cards?

Alright mate, up here in Aberdeen is where we are. I got them from a poker shop in London actually ( http://www.londonpokershop.com/), I walked past it one day when I was down there with work. I couldn't find anywhere in Scotland to get supplies from, so the chips and table top came from the internet.

Been using your site for 4 yrs now. Just started chatting on the Forum though, probably because all I can think about is poker..LOL
I have three references I refer people to who ask for my advise when it comes to poker.
1. Super System (The Bible) 2. Caro's Book of Poker Tells (it's won me money) 3. Home Poker Tourney (best advise and search tool around)
Thanks for a great site

Hello Everyone: I am so happy to have found this site. I am starting a Texas Hold'em fundraising tournament at my church and I need all the ideas I can get. Plus, I am working as a dealer at another church tonight and I need to study up on side pots, etc. (BTW, don't you just love that there is gambling at church!) Thanks, McScottM
