why do people clap in a movie theater? I thought The Dark Knight was as good as anyone else.

Commiserate with complete strangers in remote locations, knowing full well that they will never meet most of them, or even knowing whether or not the events they discuss are factual. It is illogical, or stupid if you like, to do this on a constant basis. But, DAMN, isn't it fun?!?

I remember seeing a few horror films where people were standing up and yelling at the characters on screen. that's not just stupid that's insane.

Happens in IMAX all the time. When we watched 300, the whole theatre was literally rooting them on, even my wife cheered when Gorgo ran through Theron.

We had some call offs today. I get stuck covering our Lost and Found Office for a few hours.

Some dude brings in a lost Cell Phone. Its unlocked. I go through the contacts and randomly dial one up, trying to locate who actually owns the phone.

ring, ring......

Ma'am: Hi

Me: Hi, I'm Officer Burton with Public Safety. Somebody turned this phone into our Lost and Found and I'm trying to locate the owner.

Ma'am: I have my phone with me, its not lost.

Me: I know, I'm trying to identify the owner of the phone I'm using.

Ma'am: I have my phone, I'm using it...........

Me: "Click".............
