About 35 days ago the Santa Maria left Spain with a small a small shipment of Fournier European Poker Tour 100% plastic playing cards. Just got around to using these cards and the Fournier brand continues to impress.  I really like the perfect balance of thickness and flexibility that Founier cards have and they have this nice inbetween texture as well (not as "slick" as Kem/Copag and not as textured as Dal Negro/Modiano/NTP).  Fournier continue to impress.

I used to love Fourniers, and still do as far as the beauty of their faces is concerned. But there's one major drawback imho: they pick up grease and dirt really fast, due to the textured material. A fresh set of 2800s became almost unspreadable after one nights' play. I switched to Copags just because of that - am I the only one having made that observation?

Nope.  I ran into the same problem with the 2800's.  After one night I took them out for nite two and there were spots all over them.  Put them away and used something else for that night.  Next morning, I tried cleaning the 2800's and was unsuccessfull I actually bent a card or two because I needed to apply so much pressure to remove the spots..  I don't think I'll try Fourniers again which is too bad, because I really liked how they handled and played that first night.

EDIT: Before anyone asks if my friends bathe, these are the same people I play with all the time and have never had a problem with any other setup including Copag, Modiano, DaVinci, DalNegro, Kem, and NTP.

So far so good for me.  I have the 2800 series Forunier and they haven't had any dirt issues different than my other plastic cards (they may need cleaning every few games of play) and I'm a real big fan of the EPT cards at this point.  Fournier possibly has this thickness to flexibility balance figured out better than all the other brands.

This may seem like a radical idea, but you guys could actually try NOT EATING while you're playing.  By your accounts, it sounds like you pass around a bucket of KFC with the button.     I own many different sets of Fourniers and have absolutely no complaints.  IMHO, the Fournier EPTs are the finest cards on the market.  Absolutely beautiful cards with great texture and shuffle like a dream.

Nope, no food at our tables, although a night of Dice chips, paper cards, and a bucket of KFC passed with the button does sound like a good time.  Thanks for the idea.

I've been using my Fournier Poker Visions since December without a problem at my weekly poker tournaments, and they are still fine.  Additionally I bought a set up of bridge size cards that I use to play solitaire that have been used very frequently during the same time frame, and also have had no issue with grease or dirt.  While some players do snack at the table occasionally, eating while playing isn't the norm at my games.

I'm surprised that you found Copags to be better.  That's what they use at the local card room, and after playing there for the last year and a half IMHO they are much more of a problem than the Fournier cards in terms of dirt.

The plastic used in Fourniers seems more prone to hold static electricity--I believe that's what causes them to attract more grime??? Maybe just too much dog hair floating around my house (LOL) but the Fourniers collect the hair the best!!!

Hmmmm, still no one else that seems to think so about the static electricity, in this thread or the other one that you posted.  Best of luck with that I suppose.
