**Addendum by BBONET: This is the thread that brought Big Blind Online on as an advertiser on HPT.com. I had Nutn2Lewz move and unlock this thread because of the customer testimonials from our local customers (all Gen II owners). I will keep this open for future testimonials.***
----Start Thread----

So I've built my own table before and while it was nice to sit at a table I built, it was a lot of work and I don't have that kind of time any more.  I wanted to buy a racetrack style table, but I don't want to spend a lot of money (go figure).  I came across a table called the Gen II and I believe it's manufactured/resold by BigBlindOnline http://www.bigblindonline.net/poker-products/poker-tables/gen-II-custom-poker-tables/Gen-II-Custom-Professional-Poker-Table-Black-Black-Blackhawk.asp .  It sounds like a pretty good deal $450 delivered, but the last thing I want to do is sink that kind of money and find out that it's junk.  If anyone has any experience with these tables please let me know.

Thanks,
No Limit Chips

I'd be hesitant about getting this table, the quality doesn't seem great given it's description.  It's made of MDF, which is really heavy - but the shipping weight is only 100lbs.  It seems like the table is only a single sheet of MDF (it states "Dual-MDF base layer", maybe it's 2 - 1/2" sheets) with the "reinforcement" underneath.  The rail is pieced together, & the racetrack looks like it's hardboard or even plastic.  Looks better than some of the cheaper tables you'll find on ebay, but I don't think it's worth $450 IMHO.  For a little more money you can get a table that's 100X better quality.  Have you tried contacting a local builder in your area?

NoLimit,

I have a table for sale that LOOKS like that but is much better built: 2 sheets of 3/4" cabinet grade oak, ssc middle, racetrack with 5 coats of poly. Check it out in the for sale thread under 8 seat table for sale, or something like that. Of course, if you are in Ohio, then shipping might be a problem. But, if you're local to the DFW area, or willing to drive to Amarillo, TX or something, then this might work for you (I have family in Amarillo and I'll be over there in early March).

I'm not in Ohio, but Northern Virginia so shipping would still be an issue.  There doesn't seem to be a good sentiment regarding this table so I guess I'll hold off.

I don't know how soon you need this table, I'm actually moving to the NOVA area in July and I could help build one for you. I'm actually in the process of building 10 tables for a guy who runs charity tournys here locally.

I've made a few tables already including one with a racetrack for myself.

let me know,

Hi NoLimitChips and HPTF members,

My name is George Chao and I am the Managing Director of Big Blind Online. I am honored that my products have been brought up on the HPT.com Forums. We are a smaller independent manufacturer and retailer in the Bay Area, California, and have been in operation for about 2 and a half years.

Our products are not meant to compete with custom made poker tables, but we do specialize in mid-level, quality poker tables that push the current industry price points. But more importantly, we specialize in products that our customers stand behind. All our tables are custom manufactured with our own set of strict in-house specs and quality control standards. We take pride in never having a customer ask for a return since introducing our exclusive poker table lines.

If you would like to learn more about our extensive production methods, QC inspections and the different way we go about our business, you can find that on our website. While there, please take a second to read our many satisfied customer testimonials.

Because we do not have consistent nationwide distribution yet and can still be considered a local retailer, I have invited our customers to leave an independent review of our tables and products.

If anyone has any questions regarding any products, or anything at all, please feel free to PM/Email me. Thank you!

Sincerely,
George Chao

I am a very satisfied customer and Gen II Fan. Over the last year I have purchased 10 of these Tables plus 4 of the GenIII's as well. We use these for Home games and Large 40 player tourneys. The reason I have continued to purchase these products besides the great service from Big Blind online, after our tourneys there is always someone that is interested in knowing where they can get one of the tables like the ones we use because they were as impressed with them as I am. I will continue to do my business with Big Bling and their tables.

I purchased a table in early December and I love it. George and his family were great to deal with and I would not go anywhere else for any of my poker needs. The table is very well built. We regularly have 10 man games, thats a lot of elbows on the rail and it always bounces back. If you are looking for a custom built table, you may want to go somewhere else and spend a lot more $$, but if you are looking for a great table at a very reasonable price coming from a friendly company, Big Blind Online is the way to go. I will be going back out there soon to get some more cards.

I purchased a Gen 2 table from BigBlindOnline about 6 months ago. My table has seen lots of use and it is holding up great. It is the perfect table for the home poker enthusiast who does not want a cheap folding table. Even my wife who is very picky loves the looks of the table we bought.

After having looked all over there is not a better table on the market anywhere for $400. Do yourselves a favor and let BigBlindOnline service your poker table needs.

In my case the owner George worked with me on a Sunday to allow me to come pick it up at his facility. I just can't say enough nice things about George and his tables.

i would be happy to answer any question about this table that anyone might have.

For those who haven't been exposed to Big Blind Online's Gen. II/III tables I wish to tell you first hand the remarkable value that these hold.  If you're looking for a table that is sturdy, yet light enough to move around for a very reasonable price then you should look no further.  There has yet to be a new player that has arrived at my home poker tournaments that hasn't complimented me.  It's actually almost a given now that I have to thank them when they say, "wow, this is a really nice table."  For those of you who would rather save your extra cash for tourney buy-ins it would be well worth your time to check bigblindonline out.  See you at the river...

Is this a record for first time posts in a single thread?

We sent an email to our local customers here in the Bay Area highlighting this thread and asking for their review of our product and company, the following was the response. Please feel free to contact them personally.

What can I say, we have great customers!

Actually, there were more people trying to post reviews, unfortunately Nutn locked the thread at the time. If you read our bio, we are still more of a local business, but we have a very good name here in the Bay, so you guys got the condensed version.
