I played a satellite sit and go with full tilt points and won entry to a 50 dollar tournament with a 50000 prize pool on full tilt last night.  HAd never played at this level before and was excited to play, and since the entry was a freeroll there wasnt any real pressure.  Anyhow, I got eliminated in an annoying fashion pretty early.  Dont know if I could have played it better?  HEres the hand history.  I am player Hizzamhock.

With 2 raises preflop I would have went all in just to try and shut out the junk. Your raise was pretty small after the raise to 2hundred and something. If the guy still calls then so be it, you got your money in best and the cards hit wrong, that is something you can't be upset about. In fact hopefully you play with more people like that. "I got kt to an all in raise, sure I'll call"

Good luck,

..... *** RIVER *** [Kd 8h 3c 7c] [Qc]
Hizzamhock shows a pair of Aces
4nk8 shows a flush, King high.....
Not sure what price he was getting pre flop (I didn't add em all up).
He flopped top pair with a backdoor draw, on a raggedy uncoordinated board.  No bad beat here (just beat bad)

Sorry to hear about the hand. Nobody like having their Aces cracked; however, he was still 22% to win after the flop, not exactly a huge suckout.

True.  Maybe this doesnt technically qualify as a bad beat, but whenever someone is taken down by runner, runner, as was the case here, it feels like a bad beat to me.

Hey don't feel to bad Hizzamhock. I just played in a friend's tourney for the first time this weekend. It got to the final three of us, and I raised pre flop with  ace of clubs ace of diamonds   . The guy calls me with    queen of clubs ten of hearts. The flop was  2 of hearts   ten of diamonds  ace of hearts and I went all in. The dude freakin calls me even though he only had me covered by $200 (2chips)! Now it was bad enough that he thought his tens were best, but he beats me with a  8 of hearts 3 of hearts on the turn and river. The good old flush draw! Hey thats poker Angry.
