This may have already been a subject, so I apologize.  I was reading through one of the stories in the Bad Beat forum and figured this would be a good place to rant.  Not about specific bad beat hands, but about the general mistrust and disdain many feel towards online poker rooms.

The weird part is I was running really good... I split a tourney 4 ways for an $1800+ payday.  I cashed most of it out so that I would have a bankroll again for live play (since I lost that to another donk).  Since I cashed out I have been getting unplayable cards.  And when I do play I get no action or the donkfish makes his 2 pair and cracks my Aces.

I much prefer live play.  However it's a 2 hour drive for me to hit Atlantic City and thus requires planning.  Hard to go just on the spur of the moment.  There is an underground club in my area, but I feel weird about playing there.  Not just that the place will get raided, but because there are young kids that show up (under 21) and play like the a5sholes online.  I know that game isn't rigged, but I guess I just feel more comfortable in an actual casino with real dealers and a bunch of strangers around the table.

I'm not going to give up completely online, because it's nice to have it there when the mood hits me.  But like everyone else, I'm limiting my time there.

Has anyone else experienced this?  The whole cashing out and getting screwed?

Why would a terrorist running a online poker game continue to let you win if you cash out after your first win?

Ooops, my soapy box again...

I've picked back up playing online via Poker Academy to keep sharp.  The quality of players is much better than the play money games on all the other sites, and no worries over bad beats, cheating, or other suspect events.

You don't have bad beats with Poker Academy?  I've never seen it, but that would obviously be really weird.

By the way, I've never had any trouble after cashing out, or any other time, online.  I've had stretches of bad beats, but I just accept that as part of the variance that comes along with the game.

Sorry, don't get me wrong, there are bad beats, but not because some idiot decides to challenge your KK with 48o because they feel lucky and they can just reload if it doesn't work out.

People are there to get better and learn the game.

At least that's the sense I get.

I like it and it works for me.  As I've said in another thread, I really don't need money involved to enjoy the game.  Just others who enjoy it and take it seriously.

I don't like the ring games or single table sit n gos on-line.  I always worry that there are 4-5 guys at the table who are either sitting in the same room on their laptops or using phones or IMs to collude.
