Hia, just come of a sit-n-go, only made 3rd, but played well, anyways... I got lucky enough to flop the  nut flush and laid a simple trap, my foe dived in, and then I sprung the trap immediately and my foe, like a startled dear ran away before I stacked him. I'm just wondering if I could have played this better, I didn't want to give him pot odds, and a re-raise without going all-in would have been pointless, should I simply have called and lead out on the turn ?

Thinking now I think I screwed it up, I sold myself as weak, and I new that he will bet high to try and steel the pot, and if he was steeling he obviously didn't have a had, or not a great one anyway so me jamming here achieved nothing, I should have called and let him improve a little or allow him to bluff again on 4th and 5th, any thoughts ?

heres the hand :

I like shoving here as a general rule, but what was your image and did you have any reads?  Shoving looks like the right play, but certain factors might make a call better.  However, calling a crazy raise like this probably gives your hand away anyway, so shoving is better than letting him get a free card or two.

In the last couple of months I've lost twice when slowplaying after getting the nut flush on the flop. In both cases someone got a full house on the river. Slowplaying the nut flush is not something I do quite so willingly anymore.

I think that was what probably put me off slow playing it.

I would say I had a tight image, apart from one or two steels, that the table folded to me late on, I only played premium hands and the lowest hand I showed down where I bet anything was AJs.

Now that I re-think :p the best I could have hoped for was for him to have a single high heart by calling his re-raise, but if he didn't he would fold on the turn anyway or check behind if I checked. If the turn brought another heart that would also slow him down unless he did have a single high heart of course. I probably made the most out of the hand and reduced my risk as much as possible by jamming here instead of letting a set get a free card.

Thanks

That's what I was thinking.  Calling would have had to give away your monster, while also allowing you to get outdrawn.  It looks clear that your move was probably right.

I don't mind the play at all. Best you could hope for is for him to have QhXh and go broke with the second nuts and drawing dead so you might as well open the door to let him do that. Flat calling just screams "trap!" so a push might look enough like a bluff that he might call with AK. I like leading with a bet at least instead of a check raise. I might have even made it more like 90 or 100 so it doesn't look as much like a bait bet.

I'd think about 1 call and then a shove based on his action...

If the board pairs... you got some thinking to do.

Not in a $1 sng, in my experience. Calling says to him, "He called me".

$1 sng...the villain will usually always call that raise with a K. but because you dont know, i think the right play is to give him one more free card. Being out of position may work to your advantage here because if you check on the turn (if no heart comes) it looks like youre just drawing and he may put you all in. anyway, i think the river is the place to push
