2 7 hole cards is a winner

Have any of you played that if you win with 2 7 you automatically get a chip from all players at the table.  They were doing this for a while on High Stakes Poker.

We played the other night and I won with 2 7 three times and everyone at the table had to pay me a $1 chip even if they had folded during the course of the hand.

just wondering if this variation of hold em has been played much and if anyone had any comments regarding it.

The only time the MTPL played it (once, so far), I won with it.  I wouldn't do that on a regular basis, but it was fun for the once.

Played with it before. Think it's silly. Makes for good TV though.

Not a big fan of side bets like this but I ahve a question.  Does it have to go to showdown or can you reveal it after you win uncontested and still collect the booty?

we played that everyone would have to pay up even if they all folded before the flop and you won uncontested.  I was only lucky enough to flop three dueces once the other 2 times I won with it, I just make a big enough bet on 4th street that the othe players didn't call my bluff, lucky for me.

The way we played it, you have to win with it, however that works out.  Some people play that you have to raise with it to win, or that it can't be a big blind special.  I think it just depends on house rules.

We usualy play with it on tourneys, but the 7 2 guy get 200 in chips from each players (as long that is not all their chips). But we start with 15000 chips, so 200 is usualy not much. I never play 7 2 unless I'm in the bigblind and everyone limp to me.

I would never do that in a tourney.
