When (no if's allowed) I win big, and it will have to be big, the very first thing I will do is buy a Lamborghini, I have been obsessed with getting one ever since I first saw a Diablo.
Though I'll probably need to win the WSOP main event to be able to afford the insurance.

I'd pay off my parent's mortgage, set 'em up with a huge sum of money, and I'd try to pay off my sister's mortgage, although I'm not sure she'd let me.
Then I'd worry about buyin' something for me.

A new house. Perhaps a new car. Invest the rest. Nothing for anyone else.

Definitely a new car. The house would take months to find and chips would take longer, with all the opinion polls and all. The car I could do in a day.

How do a new house and a new set of chips make it into the same poll? That's O(1000) difference...

If I had to pick one, it would have to be house for investment purposes. I would also want to put only a portion of the money into a house also. Keep the rest in more liquid investments.

Invest 3/4 of it and spend the remaining 1/4 as frivolously and quickly as possible.

Gotta start with the roof over my head.
Thou I've always said give me $1 million that I can't put into some tax free government bonds and I'll earn 10K per year for every % of interest paid.

The first thing I would buy would have to be a pack of Starburst and a coke. Winning would take an awful lot of energy and make me very tired and hungry. After that was taken care of, though, I'd help my parents get a new house.

Travel, travel and more travel, I don't need to fill my house up with more junk to collect dust. Every time my kids have some time off school we would be traveling somewhere. The carribean, hawaii, a weekend cruise to the bahamas, trekking in New Zealand for a summer. I would just get us out of the house and travel.
A couple of my buddies and I have a long standing dream/pact that if one of us falls ass backwards into a huge pile of F**K you money we would pay off each others wives and bills for a month and spend that month traveling by luxery motor coach playing golf around the country. Watch out Hootie, there's a busload of hackers coming to Augusta in the future.

FIRST is the key here. Of course I'd eventually get home and pay off my house and buy a new car and get a good attorney on retainer and such. But FIRST I would go on a tear at the stripclubs with my closest friends that would put Moneymaker's $25k bender to shame!

I can arrange for a modest retainer... Oh, wait... sorry... I didn't see the word "good"...

Definitely depends on how much I win, but I would probably blow at least a quarter of it having fun . Then try to set myself up for comfortable living afterwards (house, car, family, & all that).

ooh, you sound like Michael. I can just imagine what that would be like these days... "I'll marry you when I get a job." [he got a job] "Ok, I'll marry you when we get a car." [we got a car] "Ok, I'll marry you when we get a house." [we got a house] "Ok, I'll marry you when I win the Main Event." /Midnight "Yet, somehow, we got married" Rose
