The was my last hand of a game I've just been bused in, finishing 4th.

I was so short stacked, I couldn't fold here could I, and I think the all-in pre-flop was my only move, correct ?

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1764612

This is my final hand from the game before, which also sent me out in 4th.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1764363

I hate my minimum re-raise and served nothing, only a total bluff with a very weak hand would fold pre-flop to a minimum re-raise. I played it scared and wanted to take a look at the flop before I pushed, though I would probably have been committed to push either if the flop contained over cards to my jacks, I think I was overly worried about being called by an Ax hand and my opponent getting lucky to bust me.

I think I should have either jammed pre-flop or simply called his raise if I was so fixed on checking out the flop first.

EDIT : I've just remembered a point I forgot to add. This guys usual raise was 3xBB, this time he raises only 2xBB, I picked up on this immediately, but having only 11xBB after posting, I thought I had to play here anyway, after noticing this should I have waited for another spot, considering my jacks could be easily dominated or only just ahead anyway ?

I have ran into over pairs frequently in similar situations, and in this case put part of the blame on not making enough moves early on, limiting my options here.

Thanks again xxx

I don't have any problem shoving from the short stack with 99.

For hand 2, if you REALLY put your opponent on AA or KK with his min-raise then you're in a tough spot. Definitely worth set mining the flop since implied odds are there. After that it depends on your read. It is always tough to lay down a big pair in that situation and especially with all undercards on the board but if you are that sure of your read then I'd just flat call like you're on a draw to try to see a showdown as cheaply as possible and/or fold if he bets too much at any point. Really tough spot.

I wasn't sure he had aces or kings, but I new I had to give him credit for a stronger hand then his average. Thinking now though, considering his previous action, I don't think he would have reduced is bet with anything bellow kings, he was seeking a call, and I gave it him, plus more, but in the hand I felt I had no choice.

Well.

I hate focusing on the final hand.

It's like a team and it's fans focusing on the missed free-throw at the buzz rather than the 40 turnovers that led up to it.

Anyhow.

I *might* not have shoved with 9-9 in that position against the big stack.  Still quite a few blinds left...oh well.  At least you knew you had a chance at doubling up if you won (unlike if you'd shoved all in after the SB had limped).  I do think you had two choices there: fold or all-in.  Calling would've been pointless.

The nines hand looks good, but I don't like the jacks hand.  Go ahead and shove preflop instead of mini-raising.  Both of these hands were good enough to shove four handed, so getting in is certainly not a mistake.  Don't worry about the results, as results-oriented thinking is a major flaw for many players.  When you had nines, your opponent could easily have held AK, AQ, AJ, KQ, 88, etc. so you can certainly beat his range, even if called.  And jacks are obviously the fourth best hand you can be dealt, so playing it four handed when you're not deep can't be a mistake.
