Hey guys, I want to ask you, how do you penalize players in cash games. I mean the time penalty doesn't work, because a player can sit out or cash out at any time. My second question is about the differences to tournament play. Are there any other rules or are they enforces differently (e.g. if player raises out of turn to 1000 and a player before him calls time and raises to 2000 is the player acting out of turn forces to keep 1000 in the pot even if he decides to fold - suggested by one of my guests).

Thanks

What are you trying to penalize players for?  Acting out of turn usually doesn't warrent a penalty.

Penalize them for showing cards, for repeated and deliberate acting out of turn, splashing the pot, and all the other infractions mentioned in Robert's Rules, that warrant a warning and subsequent penalty.

If a player continues to abuse the rules after being warned, they are ejected from the game.  That is the only penalty in a cash game.

Well, that's the only penalty that doesn't involve physical violence, anyway.

As a former police officer I am highly trained at pummelling the human body about the head and shoulders. Send PM if services are required.
