This is not officially sponsored by Trident, but it is made possible because of them. Backstory: I ordered a setup of Fourniers from Trident. They had a great sale price ($6.99 per deck), and with the HPT discount, they were $16 and change shipped to my door. I told the HPT community about it here. So I ordered a set-up. A month later, I got to thinking, and I never got the cards. I shot an email to Alex and he sent me back something like, "our records show it was shipped on xx/xx/xx, but I'll check for sure when I get to the office on Monday". Monday came, he said they were shipped, but no questions asked, he sent me another set-up. He also said that there *may* have been a mistake at the Fournier plant, putting JI's in SI packaging, so he sent me a bonus set-up to make up for it... the bonus set-up was the same as the 2500's I ordered, but they had card backs previously only available to casinos. All Alex asked of me was that I refuse the first shipment if it arrived, so it would be sent back to him. This was months ago... no first shipment ever received, but Alex took care of me -- and because of Fournier's mistake, I actually got two setups. Then last week, I was looking through my cards, and I came across two set-ups of the Fournier 2500's and the 2508 bonus set-up. And then I realized! I *did* get the first shipment. Either I am nearly medically brain dead, or I have too many cards... or both. Anyway, since then, I've been in contact with Alex to let him know about my mistake and try to either pay for the first set-up, or at least the shipping. Alex said that if both set-ups I got were mis-marked, he got replacements from Fournier, so it didn't come out of his pocket. And if the first shipment was correct (not mismarked), well, they've already accounted for it on their books. And either way, Alex wouldn't even let me pay him for the shipping because he said he would have had to re-ship the bonus set-up that made up for the mis-marked cards. In my book, this is above and beyond. Alex is way more responsive than I could have expected. Customer service is excellent and his product line is outstanding. At the end of the day, I ended up with three set-ups of Fourniers for $16. And Alex won't let me make it up to him by paying for it. I have no idea what his profit margin is, or how much Fournier kicked in to make up for their mistake, but all I can say is that by shipping me six decks of cards for $16, there is no way Trident made any money off that deal. I feel bad because it was my error that resulted in the second set-up and the second shipment. And since Alex won't take any money from me, I'm giving the cards to you. Contest: Okay, so how do you win? Well, if I can't pay Alex with money, I hope to at least pay him with new customers. If you're reading this, I hope you at least read the story above about what sets Trident apart from the rest: excellent customer service and excellent card selection. If you are not a Trident customer, go check out their selection: http://www.tridentcards.com/ Don't forget that you get a 10% discount from HPT: 10% off code: homepoker ( http://www.homepokertourney.com/poker-discounts.htm) To win, all you have to do is post in this thread. If you've never bought from Trident before, I hope you at least go and check out their site (but you don't have to buy anything to win). If you *are* a customer of Trident and have had a similar experience with Trident, post a blurb about it in your entry reply in this thread. More good pub. for Trident. Bonus: if you are a Trident customer and add a blurb to your response, I'll throw in two cut cards if you are the winner. Please, one post per person in this thread. Each post is a contest entry!I'll run the contest through the end of August. On September 3rd, I'll use nutN's DJIA method and award the extra set-up to the winner. I will cover shipping to the US or Canada. If you live elsewhere, you cover shipping. The cards are Fournier 2500's, poker width, in red/blue. I ordered SI, but they may actually be JI because of being mis-marked at the Fournier factory. Cards are still un-opened. Here's pics from the Trident site, but I note that the Ace of Spades says "2508"... Note sure why it says that, but these are 2500's... The back design is shown, however:

Okay I'm in... and here's my blurb: There is no better vendor of cards out there period. Further I can honestly say there are very few, if any, vendors of ANYTHING that compare to the customer service that is standard issue from Trident. I've bought waay too many cards from Alex and crew. Yet I just keep on going back...

First, great post and great contest. Second, I'm a lifelong member of the I Trident Club. Alex is nothing but awesome. I've never, ever, had a single unsolved problem with anything I've ever ordered from Trident; and when hiccups occured, Alex went way above and beyond, like you state. Heck, I bought my first baseball cap from Trident, and I don't wear baseball caps!

I've been to there site a few times but have never ordered. It's stuff like this that makes the HPT community what it is today.
Thanks Wedge

I am in!
For my story:
I ordered a setup of Piatnik Bridge sized beauties from Trident. Unfortunately there were a few noticable imperfections on card backs of the blue deck. Nothing major, but when you know there is an imperfection it would be unethical to use them without telling everyone. And who wants a bunch of drunk guys trying to find the little white dot out of place on everyone else's cards... So I asked Alex if he had a couple of replacement cards.
Well, he sent a new deck. I offerred to return the "marked deck" so he could have future replacements in case he needed them. No dice. He insisted I keep them and was incredibly nice during the whole process. He paid shipping for everything. Now the marked deck sits by the side of my computer for random shuffling and the occasional solitaire game.
Really top notch service at Trident. Buy with confidence!
I should also add that plastic cards seem to have an awfully high rate of defects. Some brands seem to be better than others, but all brands seem to have more printing errors than their paper counterparts. For me, this would never tip the balance toward buying paper as plastics last so long and feel so good. But it highlights the need to get your cards from a reputable dealer that will fix any problems. Trident fits that bill.

I've bought several setups from Trident and have never even had a hiccup. I love their selection, and the shipping always seems to go double speed.
Count me in, I gave my fournier (jumbo index) setup to my 95 yr. old grandmother-in-law. She'd been using some nasty old standard index off brand.
Thanks, Ken

The only bad thing about dealing with Alex is that he makes it difficult to deal with others as he has raised the customer service bar through the roof...and when dealing with other online vendors I have a higher level of expectation that others are unable to meet.

I have bought a few setups from Trident and as is normally reported, the service is amazing. In my mailbox before I even remeber I ordered them. The selection and prices are without a doubt second to none.
Quick blurb about my experience with Trident's customer service. I was a participant in a large group buy for some of the new DN Acetates as Trident offers a bulk discount on these. I did not personally purchase them directly from Trident. Well, wouldn't you know it, the very first game they get put into play, a player accidentally creases one of the corners on a single card. I was so angry at the player that he had ruined my best and newest setup of cards. I contacted Alex at Trident to see if DN had a replacement card program or if he knew of a way to get a replacement fully wanting to BUY a replacement card. Alex would have no part of that and insisted that he send me the replacement card (that I did not even purchase directly from him) for free.
Absolutely above and beyond as has been reported on several occasions

Count me in! I've bought from Trident and will continue to do so. My Trident customer service blurp is here: http://forums.homepokertourney.com/index.php/topic,10193.0.htmlLong story short, I wanted to order some plastic cases when I placed my latest card order but forgot to put them in the shopping cart. When I emailed Trident to change it, they threw them in the order, no extra charge and no extra shipping.
